There is a condition called "schizophrenia", what it is:

• Its a psychological disorder, makes you unsure if this is reality or just a dream.

• And of course, it can make you think your dreams and thoughts were actual events.

People with schizophrenia can change, and the effects can cause trauma in life.

Its not something funny, its serious. Just a thought, its not something to laugh at, as one of my family members has this too.

mental illness is not genjutsu , you are an *******. making fun of people wit mental illness. genjutsu techniques manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses. someone has to cast genjutsu on someone. Fail Thread

Genjutsu is hallucinations and events that aren't real, schizophrenia is the same. numbskull

A serious medical condition and a fictional fighting technique are not the same, despite the fact that they both involve hallucinations.

Read what I was saying, didn't I say this was the same, I said Genjutsu was real. The principles and properties of it is real, I don't find this disorder funny either...

precisely my point. genjutsu is a thing made up in an anime show, schizophrenia is a very serious and dangerous disorder

Having a mental disorder is not the same as someone intentionally manipulating your thoughts. Next you'll tell me katon is real because we have flame throwers...

schizophrenia doesn't make you hallucinate seeing demons everyday. It's more of an auditory hallucination rather than a visual one(hearing voices). Even if it were a visual it would be more closer to paranoia, thinking you saw something when you didn't rather than clearly seeing something such as a dragon.

Please, stop conflating things. Genjutsu is an affliction CAST by somebody onto someone else. Unless there is someone who can directly cause another person to have schizophrenia, schizophrenia is NOT a genjutsu. Do you want the two definitions to be laid out, compared and analysed to demonstrate just how wrong what you're saying is?
