Genjutsu (幻術; Literally meaning "Illusionary Techniques") are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals.
How to get out.
To get out of a genjustsu you must concintrate and focus the flow of your charkra to make it stady to stop the genjustsu.
Instances where people break genjustsu
1)tachi broke kurnai genjustsu because it was too weak
2)danzo breaking sauske's genjustsu
3)sauske breaking itachi's even doh itachi did it on purpose
my point
there are some instances where you can get out of genjusts and some were you cant.
what I was saying why couldnt the nine tails just stady the flow of his charkra and get out of tobi's genjustsu cause the kuybi is more powerfull than tobi.And if you notice tobi only used a normal sharingan to control kuybi he shold be able to get out of the genjustsu pretty easy.So I was wondering is it not possible to break a sharingan genjustsu but danzo and sauske did it so why couldnt the fox do it?:shrug:

Edited: Kishi my have made mistakes in the development around the Kyuubi attack and Madara/Harishima's Battle by trying to incoporate a story that wasn't fully build during Part 1 of Naruto. He is trying to make, Part 2 of Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, more sense to were given detailed information without showing to much to reveal for later chapters.

tobi actually used a normal 3 tomoe sharingan

There's also deidara, who trained his eye to see through all genjutsus. And that's with a normal eye.

thats a good point not sure why he couldn't just disrupt his chakra flow to break out, or perhaps what tobi and madara cast on the fox wasn't a gen-jutsu but a jutsu thats specifically for controlling the movements of a biju and not necessarily casting a gen-jutsu on them in order to do so.

Sharingan wielders don't control the bijuu via Genjutsu, where did that come from?

On both instances (Tobi and Madara) we've seen the wielder simply say Obey... and Come forth Kyuubi... and that was it. The power comes from the doujutsu itself, no one has said anything about it being a genjutsu. :|

dude they put the tail beats under a genjustsu and control it actually kurama is the only one that it happened to

It is never stated in the manga that the Sharingan wielders use Genjutsu to control the bijuu. It's a power that comes with the eye. To be more precise, only something Madara Uchiha and Tobi have done until now.

I ask you to show me one page from the manga that states they use genjutsu in order to do it. :|

its said MS has the ability to control the kyuubi but how tobi was able to control him with just a 3t sharingan has still yet to be revealed, maybe it has to do with the mystery behind who he is
