Naruto and Sasuke are still genin... so does that mean that they will have to go thru the chunin exams when they get back to the village?

First off, Sasuke will never go back to the village. That thought's just ****ing stupid; although, Naruto will have to get up to a Jounin if he ever wants to be the Hokage.

The Chunin exam is not a requirement to become a Chunin ya know ._.

The decision comes from the Hokage. The exam is purely made for entertaining the feudal lords, showing the strength of a village upcoming generation and evaluate the true skills of a Genin. If a Genin has shown it's worth to the Hokage, they can be promoted without passing this test.

Naruto has proven himself to be worthy of being even Jonin ( ANBU id he had the brain). I mean hell, he's holding his own against Tobi ._.

Basically, Chunin exams are but formalities . Only reason he wasn't promoted is that it doesn't truly matters anyways, they have much more important stuff to do.

It's not a requirement because genin can be appointed chunin or jonin so naruto won't have to but he might do it just to face his "rival" konohamaru xd

No. In theory Naruto can be elected Hokage the way he is. There is no rule stating that Hokage candidates have to be Jounin or higher.

The only differences in rank between Genin, Chuunin, and Jounin are responsibilities.
They don't necessarily say anything about your strength. Naruto and Sasuke are proof of that

B) Even if Sasuke becomes frinds with naruto again, I don't think he will want to go back to Konoha... Also, his official rank is "S-Class Criminal", so I don't think he is considered a chunin... U_U

"S-Rank Criminal" is not a rank. It's a designation to runaway shinobi

Remember what the 3rd said... you can finish the competition, be the winner but still not be promoted... you are promoted depending on your abilities, the whole exam is just a formality....
And let's face it right now Naruto's clone could pass it lol xd
Although it would be fun to see... i bet Naruto would still get scared in that creepy forest... that is if he doesn't blast the whole place down xd
