If you think the clam creates the images, then you haven't really proved it. If anything, Gengetsu creating the images himself makes more sense.

Makes sense. Summonings that dont communicate verbally tend to do that.

Joki is based on needing and absorbing heat, so Asa helps and unexpectedly defeats guy

Joki is base on gathering steam pressure (through evaporated water) to explode. Engaging the way he did to Madara helps pick up heat by getting toss around and also firing Hiru which force it to blow up with pressure, then it originally attend to.

And with no mirage it's not going to take Gai long to find him, especially since this match starts with both of them in each other's line of sight. Keeping track of who goes far away isn't going to be an issue. Hell, Gai doesn't even have to let any clone get out of his field of view, rendering this strategy useless.

None of those clones are dangerous except for the one that looks nothing like the original, so all he needs to do is wipe out the ones that look exactly like the original until he finds the original. There's no confusion about that. It's a simple, straightforward plan.
