Some people say it's the next step in human evolution, while other people say it's tampering with nature, and as humans shouldn't be allowed that amount of power over the face of humanity. Do you think we should be allowed to genetically modify babies as we please, or should it be illegal?

I don't think this is an issue for just the religious people, there can be real consequences, and changes in our lives to be considered. And also, 'religious retards' are the last of your worries, it's corrupt f*cks that will ruin this for us and the 'religious retards' will end up right.

It's too much power for humans. Once we are able to use technology like that, we are all screwed. Imagine the level of restrictions and monitoring the government would have to do just to keep us safe. Imagine the potential for war and espionage, there will be no trust.

Also, first it'll be a thing for the rich, which would create new classes, and there will be ways to use this shit in society that we won't be able to see right now. Governments will make humans for certain purposes like being soldiers with no other purposes. I could be wrong, and this might be great, but we have to look into it a lot before opening our arms to it.

Unless I found that there was some moderately high possibility of my child being born with some genetic disorder or hereditary disease I would rather sit on the side lines waiting for something to inevitably go wrong. genetically engineering a baby would be expensive initially so a totalitarian world government wouldn't be spending money to make the general population more compliant. they would more likely modify their own 'children' so that their kids would be physically and mentally superior. think more like elysium where a select few own machines to cure disease and the rest of the world just works to literal death.
