The way this story is going :
So we get this Biology lesson. Shin prattles about how war and the fear of death is a stimulus for evolution so only the strongest genes survive and reproduce. He uses this argument to justify his creation of clones. (Disregarding the the need for diversity and Hardy-Weinburg but this isn't a scientific article so never-mind that)

And soon Naruto and company will teach Sarada that we aren't slaves to our genes. It will be revealed that Karin died saving Sakura in order to give birth to Sarada. She transferred her chakra using that Heal bite and unfortunately couldn't survive. Sarada may also try analyzing whether her genes match Sakura's, and to her surprise, they will. She will learn to love family regardless of genetic dispositions.
Chojo will also just learn to love her parents the way they are. (romantic story in the end, isn't it?)

The Karin-Sakura-Sasuke dynamic is akin to Kimimaro wanting to fulfill or live in Orochimaru's heart, followed by Jugo and Sasuke.

TL;DR
moral of the story: genes don't determine who you are even though the most cliche theme in shonen is for the main character to be born of superb bloodline. Will of fire is cool and all but it helps to have some great genes dattebayo.

Naruto -> Uzumaki, Ashura descendant
Luffy -> Dragon (Most Wanted Criminal)
Bleach -> Quincy, Hollow, Shinigami starter package
FMA -> "Father" or that Homonculus from a thousand years ago

Neji was right all along.

Neji been right. Kishimoto retconned the whole hard work beats talent thing and proved Neji right as soon as he introduced that Child of Prophecy shit. The Indra/Ashura destiny stuff just made it worse

Hard work still beats talent.

Just because something's predetermined doesn't mean hard work isn't involved.

Not to mention that after he fulfilled the prophecy of meeting up with the bijuu it could go either way.

Realistically speaking, everything has it's limits and it's max potential.
