Generations-What do we think?

So I know there are many threads out about Generation but I wanted to make one about what people thought about it.


1: Is it the game you expected?
2: Do you like the Story Mode?
3: Do you like the new Sub Bar?
4: Do you think they made a good game or do you think they cashed in for the sake of making money and letting people play with new characters?
5: The Free-Battles. Decent improvements?
6: What should they have added? or Left out?


I just wanna know what people think. I just bought it and I can't decide what I think.​

So far the verdict is DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!-wait for the price to drop,which it will and very shortly.

I would say that It isn't better than the previous two. But by default it kinda is. It has all the same things as the 1st two,but lacks some of the best parts of them.

What makes you think it's better?

i think it is a better game than the previous 2, mainly because of the substitution bar and more characters, and i would have liked kushina as a playable character

No doubt. I hope they managed to sort the fighting out and other issues by then though.

I think that its better than the previous 2.
Things that I like:

- The sub bar.
- Amount of characters.
- Less spam.
- Its more difficult.
- Online modes.

Things that I miss are.

- Jutsu clash.
- Better storymode (like in storm 1)
- Ranked match (Also for 'singles' fights)
- Creating your own ninja.

I'm actually playing it right now, while writing this post haha.

I think that the 2nd game had a better story mode. The short story mode in generations actually ruined it a little bit for me.. And I hate the fact that so many cool characters only are support.. And its crappy that they didn make the real madara playable, since they made an entire story after him, besides, in the video with him fighting the first hokage, he showed planty of moves which he could have used as a playable character.

- I dont think it was worth the money. The only thing i liked about the game, was the better gameplay and more characters than the previous 2 games. Just Hope they do a better job making NUNS3

  2: Do you like the Story Mode? I woud have to say I really don't like it. I mean I do like the movie clips and stuff, but it just isn't as fun as Ninja Storm 2 since you can't freely roam around and such.

  5: The Free-Battles. Decent improvements? They did pretty good with the Free-Battle mode. I like the tournament mode and the Survival mode they added to it, and I think they are a lot more funner than the Story mode.
  
  6: What should they have added? or Left out? Like I have stated before they could of just left the Story mode the way it was just like on the second game.

Honestly I like it. The story mode is pretty terrible, but if I wanted to go through the naruto story I would watch the anime. With that said the cutscenes are nice. I like the sub bar but I am still adjusting to it. There is nothing better than getting you opponent down to 0 subs and unleashing a massive combo. I like the new additions like tournament and training modes, but I haven't really tried endless much.

All in all I really like the game, simply for the fact that I am yet to meet a single sage mode naruto or Itachi. I have seen only one minato also, which is very refreshing from storm2. I haven't really seen any spammers/ rage quiters either so online seems better IMO.

Oh I forgot 1 thing there are a few spammers with no skill, trying to ruin the game using these characters.

Tsunade has literally not been improved at all....Same for many others Gaara too. Only one new move for him. He's Kazekage and has shown some huge variety in his techniques yet somehow they failed to give these people anything new. Even new combo's would be good. Just 1 of 4 would have been nice.

So the new Sasuke is amazing, and the new characters are amazing, but holy crap. Some others have been given nothing new. KM is nowhere near as good as it should have been. The Ultimate was nice,Sage Barrage was good but why not give Naruto a new variation of Rasengan too.

I'm a little annoyed at how little they've changed some of the characters and how much they've done for others...Hashirama,Nidaime, Danzo,Ohnoki, Mei Kabuto,Masked man etc are all Boss while others have just been changed a little, Bee's new Jutsu is nice,Gaara's sand spear is nice, but then others like Tsunade,haven't been changed at all AT ALL!!!! WTF!!??

Really pissed off I haven't received mine yet. They say I should receive it any day soon. They cancelled my card edition in the UK. They said I'm gonna get a super special edition instead. **** knows what that means. Better be good, cost me an extra £10.

I hate that I seem to be unlocking a bunch of totally pointless crap everytime I finish a versus fight. WTF!?

There's no sense of earning anything in this game....:sy:

Let's keep this simple. Gameplay has been refined and it has been made alot more difficult to perform certain cheap tactics. The character roster is great and the available amount of modes is a nice add on, despite being available in almost every other fighter.

Let's be honest, the cut scenes are for the most part very good in the story mode but the narrative is repetitive and boring and the whole story mode is FAR too short. It's disgraceful to be honest, you can finish it in a few hours, easily. This game should not have been RRP at full game price (roughly £40 where I'm from).

Online is still absolutely YEARS behind other matchmaking systems as I tried 20 TIMES, YES, 20 TIMES on quick match to get a ranked game. A quick match should as quickly as possible pair two players who are not currently within a game together so a game can be played QUICKLY. I constantly get paired with other users who are 'already busy'. It's a joke.

Hopefully the next iteration will keep up with the improved game mechanics and seriously offer us some substantial game play here. Survival modes etc are nice, but they take so little work to implement and they are pretty much a stick on for every game in existence, so don't kid yourselfs and think that this was genuine innovation. It is merely a form of filler to ensure that players have some more reason to play this game as the story mode is ridiculously short.

Gameplay = Great Improvements

Graphics = Ususal high standard

Cut Scenes = Very good

Lifespan = Despicably short

Online = Reasonable improvements, but matchmaking system is still extremely poor (take a look at EA's online games, or bungies etc etc)

Character Roster = Great

Overall I am dissapointed with this game. I still play online alot, but honestly single player is a disgrace. I've seen DLC updates for games with a greater lifespan than this game.

Certainly not worth the money you pay and not at all worth the time it took to come out. Avoid this game for several months. Let it go halfprice. I assure you all it will plummet in price shortly.

You are spot on bud, the price will plummet in a few months. Don't get me wrong if they release another Storm game I will undoubtedly pre-order it as overall they have been good. But as you say, specifically for how long the game has taken to be released the game is incredibly short.

I mean you can't even justify the cut scenes (which are great) for taking up the developers time as they don't even make them! haha!

I honestly expect at least 10 hours of single player if I'm paying full price. 10 hours being right at the bottom of the content required. Online and multiplayer are nice, but I've already covered that. New modes are good. But they are NO GOOD if you can't even get a game.

Why take 5 minutes to get into a match which lasts for 99 seconds?????

Say you get two spammers in a row. You may defeat them but that's almost 15 minutes and you've not even played an enjoyable match.

Surely people can see why I am not happy regarding this?

You are even more correct than I was. This is now one big correctness thread. hehe

Basically 10 hours is the minimum on next gen consoles and even then,it's pissing in the wind.
I just played Skyrim and that lasted about 120hrs and even then I didn't beat it. Just the story and some side quests. I'm only lvl 58.

Not to mention the fact that they had two other games that had already been made to the fullest extent and then didn't even try and top one of those. So the story mode was a fart in the face.

Online fights...don't get me started. There are some great online players atm and Naruto had the potential to be one of the best...but they crapped all over that and even have a slightly better version of what we already owned. We already had NUNS 2 which was IMO the better game and the 1st was better than that in many respects.

I will buy the 3rd for sure, but I will be more careful about it. I don't want to feel shafted like this again. This is the biggest dissapointment in any Naruto game I've owned...i hate to say it but they let me down.

I should have waited and bought it for less. Cheap turds....

btw don't get me wrong, the new characters are great and they are the level of awesome that the whole game should have been. Mei, Hashirama, Ohnoki...they are Boss. But the rest of the game...sucks blue chunks.
