Good post. I guess people get a real kick out of fooling people online, and I guess it's somewhat enjoyable for some people. Although I have heard of people changing their genders to avoid getting stalked online on other forums.

There must be something utterly fulfilling in changing a RL guy's gender sign to female, knowing that a forum such as NB is basically a sausage fest and overflowing with teenagers. That's like wearing a visibility vest when out hunting, unless you want to be approached and mauled.

I couldn't care less whether someone fakes or not. I don't care about someone's gender online. Who would? My question is WHY would people choose to fake their gender when given the choice? Whether someone actually does it or not doesn't concern me.
