[Suggestion] Gender

It is not so necessary in my opinion. Not only doesn't it matter much what gender one is here imo, but also because there are just sooooo many people that do not check it. Look at my pink name, people still sometimes mistake me for a guy xD

I think there should be an app or something for this version of vB, but I don't know if it is difficult to install it and/or if it is worth going through the trouble of installing it.

The only time I might want this feature is when I use a female character avatar and want to avoid prepubescent male members trying to flirt with me.

I'm a guy but tons of people mistake me for a female because of my avatar. It doesn't even matter, because I don't care if people mistake me for a girl, if I didn't know, I would probably mistake myself too. It shouldn't even matter whether younre a guy or girl, people should treat you the same.

I think it's honestly better for the female members not to have gender signs. I imagine they get harassed and annoyed just for being a female on an anime site.

Doesn't matter what gender someone is. It's not a big deal. You'll find out that by actually talking to people. If you truly want to know, look at hints in username, posts, whatever.

a) such a feature doesn't change anything as anyone can select whatever option they want and if they want to they can still fool you.

b) you can already check the gender someone put by going to their profile and opening the tab "about me"

c) this isn't a dating site and what you are supposed to do is treat people correctly and according to the rules so the gender someone has plays little to no role in your interactions with him/her.

Like I said, its the internet. Having the option to say show what gender you are doesn't change the fact that you can lie about it. So the problem you say would be resolved, isn't. Boys and girls in NB are the same: members which you need to treat according to the rules and with which you discuss the various topics of the forum.

This isn't to say it won't be added by the admins like it was before the update to vB 4, its just not something that is currently of the highest priority and may take awhile if it actually comes to happen.
