Okay so I basically had a little "argument" with a friend about what gender, ***, transgender and transsexual means and if they are the same. He insisted that gender and *** meant the same thing and being transgender and transsexual is the same thing as well.

However, I always thought *** was what you were born with (Ex: Penis(Balls) & Vagina(Uterus) ) but then gender was more like mental thing rather then biological. So I assume a lot of you were born either male or female and feel male(boy, man) and female(Girl, Women).. which classifies you as a cisgender however some people are born male but feel like a woman or born female and feel like a man so wouldn't it be a mental thing and not physical because if it was physical we wouldn't have people like transgenders right? Everyone would feel the gender they were assigned with at birth correct? Or No? So do you think *** and gender are the same thing?

I can't say waaay too much on transgenders and transsexual but as far as I know it is that transsexual is someone who transitions into their gender they feel and also change their reproductive organs? So transsexual woman will have their penis made into a vagina( I don't know the other way around) but a transgender is usually someone who transitions (And also is an umbrella term for genderqueers and such) but without changing their sexual organs or getting medical surgery for this matter? No Horomones or without?

Let's try to get some serious replies though. Also do you also agree an hermaphrodite is a *** and not gender?

So how are they the same? You could say they are similar but the same is what I disagree with. I was a born a female and I feel female which makes my *** female and gender female, or girl, or woman or whatever you want to call it.

Linguistically, *** refers to biological characteristics (biological ***, male and female), and gender refers to associations/culture/etc. (masculinity or femininity). At least, that's what I've learned.

*** is what you actually are while gender is basically what you choose.

Transgender are the ones who act like the opposite gender but don't get surgeries while transsexuals change their gender by getting surgeries.

A transgender man is a woman that acts like a man. A transsexual man is a woman who changed their *** (although you really can't change ***) via surgery.

A transgender woman is a man that acts like a woman. A transsexual woman is a man who changed their *** via surgery.

Transgender people are usually more ambiguous when it comes to gender.

Might as well post this here:

What's the difference between being transgender or transsexual and having an intersex condition?

People who identify as transgender or transsexual are usually people who are born with typical male or female anatomies but feel as though they’ve been born into the “wrong body.” For example, a person who identifies as transgender or transsexual may have typical female anatomy but feel like a male and seek to become male by taking hormones or electing to have *** reassignment surgeries.

People who have intersex conditions have anatomy that is not considered typically male or female. Most people with intersex conditions come to medical attention because doctors or parents notice something unusual about their bodies. In contrast, people who are transgendered have an internal experience of gender identity that is different from most people.

Many people confuse transgender and transsexual people with people with intersex conditions because they see two groups of people who would like to choose their own gender identity and sometimes those choices require hormonal treatments and/or surgery. These are similarities. It’s also true, albeit rare, that some people who have intersex conditions also decide to change genders at some point in their life, so some people with intersex conditions might also identify themselves as transgender or transsexual.

In spite of these similarities, these two groups should not be and cannot be thought of as one. The truth is that the vast majority of people with intersex conditions identify as male or female rather than transgender or transsexual. Thus, where all people who identify as transgender or transsexual experience problems with their gender identity, only a small portion of intersex people experience these problems.

It’s also important to understand the differences between these two groups because in spite of some similarities they face many different struggles, including different forms of discrimination. The differences between transgender and transsexual and intersex have been understood by lawmakers in countries such as Australia where lawmakers have publicly acknowledged that people with intersex conditions have distinct needs from people who identify as transgender or transsexual.

People who identify as transgender or transsexual also face discrimination and deserve equality. We also believe that people with intersex conditions and folks who identify as transgender or transsexual can and should continue to work together on human rights issues; however, there are important differences to keep in mind so that both groups can work toward a better future.

This generation isn't ****ed simply because it makes a distinction between gender and ***. English is a living language, words will continue to change in meaning and context. It's not a big deal

I thought people knew this._.

Yes you are right. *** is biological gender is not.

About your "hermaphrodite" question that word is kind of slur-ish; the word "intersex" is better for defining people who have born with
A) genitals of both sexes
B) chromosomes of one *** and genitalias/*** characteristics of other

*** = what you have between your legs

gender = what you wish you had between your legs

*** and Transsexual would be the categories and Gender and Transgender would be the sub-categories.

*** directly means male or female; A Transexual is a Man>Female or Female>Man.

Gender directly means masculine or feminine; A Transgender is a Man with Feminine traits or a Female with Masculine traits.
