if i'm not mistaking tax payer money in the united states also goes to churches. should we stop doing that because not all tax payers are christians?

the whole idea of tax money is that it's the money of the entire country collectively, and needs to be used to help all citizens. transgender people are in need of help and since they are citizens of the country they should get help if possible. besides the money for these surgeries is a next to nothing precentage of the entire tax money. there will only be one surgery per transgender person and the actual surgery is only a part of a couple of years operation of *** change (including hormone therapy and counsling).

this is a none issue, nobody is losing preacious money over this. and transgender people pay taxes also.

edit: more so, because gender confusion is a mental disorder. it's possible most of them don't work as a result of their problem. solving this using the *** change surgery might make them more healthy and as a result go to work or start working harder. here is what's not going to get them to work and pay taxes, telling them "screw you, it's your problem, deal with it". excellent way to hurt citizens that could be helping the economy. you do one surgery for a person and the problem is solved for them for life. do you really think this is a bad investment?

I don't think our taxes should go towards churches, unless they're willing to put our taxes towards all religous groups.

Should tax payers money go towards plastic surgeries?

There are more important issues that our money should go towards tha we aren't even paying attention to.

there have been more importent places our tax money could go to for years. why now only after it went to help transgender people do we have a problem with where our tax money goes to? we shouldn't pay for plastic surgery and we are not going to, because it is not classified as a mental disorder. gender issues are. tax money already goes for a host of mental disorders so why not help transgenders as well? it's really not that much money anyways. the tax money that goes for prisons is much much higher.

if you are really concerned, you should go check how much tax money goes to salaries in the new york city council. and you also know they get subsidised health care. where do you think they get the money to pay that subsidy?
