From what I seen from the latest chapter is that the Gedo Mazo has only got sealed in Chibaku Tensei and nothing else. It wasn't hurled away from the good people like what Hagoromo did, that is, hurling the huge boulder in sky called as Moon later.
But in this chapter, the stone is still in Kaguya's Dimension.
When the Gedo Mazo was getting sealed, it was still close to the ground judging from it's size.
And then everyone was summoned back. I mean, the Bijuus, Team 7 and Madara.
But what about the dimension which Kaguya created? What about the Gedo Mazo?
There are still few stuff which are suspicious.
1) Like I said, Gedo Mazo's existence in the Kaguya's dimension.
2) Kaguya's Dimension didn't got destroyed after her sealing.
3) Why Bijuus were separated when the WHOLE thing was getting sealed?
4) Even after the Bijuus were separated, the Rabbit's chakra still left.
5) The Rabbit actually spitted out Madara, why? Madara could've been dealt together with the sealing, right?
6) Why Hagoromo needed more Kages when he got his powers back?
7) Madara doesn't have Hashirama's tattoo on his chest anymore.
About the Madara's return part, I have some reasoning. This page speaks most of the things.
IMO, Hagromo, after getting his powers back separated the Bijuus from the Gedo Mazo as well as freed Madara from the Mazo. He still wanted to let the Bijuus live and wanted Madara to correct his mistakes.
