Sasuke may unlock Rinnegan though. You never know. He is the ONLY Uchiha to gain EMS besides Madara himself that we know of and Madara unlocked his Rinnegan. And Rinnegan is speculated to be the final evolution of Sharingan.

I think that was for reducing the time it takes to seal a Bijuu. But who know what he meant by it.

Why in the hell would Hashirama develop something that he will never be able to use? The only ones who have been able to summon Gedo Mazo are Tobi and Nagato, and Nagato doesn't even have Hashirama's DNA.
