I was just thinking.

In Naruto, chakra and soul are basically one and the same thing. I also noticed that the technique Nagato used via Gedo Mazo on Hanzo and the other ninjas on the day Yahiko died bares really strong similarities with the technique preformed during the sealing of the Bijuus in the Gedo Mazo statue.

We've also seen that to take out all those ninjas pretty much 0ed Nagato out of vitality. And that was like 20/30 ninjas. To seal a tailed beast that has a lot more chakra would be impossible to Nagato, so that is most likely why they needed all of the Akatsuki members to do it later on.

Now, I think that the sealing technique of Gedo Mazo and Totsuka Sword are very similar as they both pull the chakra out of their target and seal it inside of them selves.

We've seen that what goes inside Gedo Mazo can be taken out as well, is it possible that the same thing might happen with the Sake Jar? What do you think?

Another thing would be should the Totsuka Blade be able to seal all of the 9 Bijuus?

that sword puts the victim in genjutsu but that freaky monster simply eats chakra soul...

I don't know about that... if you look at it carefully a lot of the Rinnegan abilities regarding souls were spiritual as well. The Deamon Boss Nagato had was spiritual...

Also the sword is not spiritual, that is a misconception. The blade was said to be spiritual but the sword (which is not a sword, but a jar) has nothing spiritual about it. It's a very physical sake jar. Otherwise Itachi would never have found it.

Yes the sword put the target in a genjutso so that they go quietly inside, but it also seals them inside itself. Just like the Gedo Mazo does.

They both basically do the same thing just in different ways.

The sword takes the entire target and the dragon just take their souls

i personally think that the totsuka blade couldn't seal all of the tailed beasts. but if it could it would probably very hard containing them.

As far as the manga have shown there's a limit on how much sealing can seal at least in Minatos SHinigami no Jutsu - not able to completelt seal that large amount of Kyuubi chakra. Also of the 6SOP really aimed for peace he should have realized Bijuus will only create chaos so why did he not choice to seal the Ten tail completely instead he divided it to 9... prbabaly coz he can't seal that amount of power.

They're not the same at all. Gedo Mazo's Chakra dragon rips out the victim's soul or Chakra, Totsuka no Tsurugi seals the whole body, not just the soul. Therefore it could seal a Bijuu indeed - it'd just take a bit longer, due to a Bijuu's size.
