were not sure what its REAL use is but im sure theres something nagato said its power can destroy a nation with all the tailed beast inside so i think tobi is trying to use it to destroy the moon to obtain the ten tails no wonder he has it now he wants to blast it and obtain it maybe i know i may be wrong cause his plan is to use infinite tskiyomi with the moon but i think hes gonna destroy and i dont think naruto will die if the nine tails is extracted hes a uzumaki just like his mother his mother didnt die by it so he wont either pure knowledge

It's the jubi skeleton I think once all the tailed beast are sealed in it the jubi will resurrect just like in the 12gaurdian shinobi arc if sora would have grown all 9 tails the 9 tails would have been unsealed from naruto

well i see what you mean, here's my thought on it-


have you forgotten that SO6P created moon (jyubi body inside it) with chibaku tensei and nagato's path could too do that technique these means that tobi too can perform chibaku tensei... so he's thinking to first destroy the moon to free the ten tailed beast and than with that tech he'll again create moon to complete his plan.
