watching that video made me realize that if WB's Quake power pulling the air with his hands is indeed part of 'awakened DF ability' it would be weird for Teach to be able to perform it after 5 min of having the DF
1. "He already has the people of the world." This is not past tense, this is present tense. That means that's something people are currently doing. There is no indication that people started doing that prior to the timeskip.
2. "Closest to" means he's not there yet, but out of everyone, he's the most likely to reach that level. He became a Yonko during the timeskip. The Gorosei did indeed fill that gap with him, but it wasn't until during the timeskip.

Jimbei said two events shook the world in the past two years, meaning, within the past two years, not before. Teach becoming a Yonko is one of them.

If it is present tense, that means Blackbeard is being a yonkou now and during the past timeskip.
So you're failing on that interpretation too.

If he's the closest one to fill the spot, that means he is yonkou level by default considering that nobody is up there by him.

"We must elect the most powerful."
That means elect the next powerful pirate now.
They wait to see how the new world riot turns out, while appointing BB the position.
Jinbei also mentioned that Sengoku immediately stepped from Admiral position over the course of two years.
Which everyone saw right after the war.
The past two years included pre timeskip events, not the interval of the timeskip.
Pre- bb yonkou, Sengoku stepped down
During the timeskip-smoker G-5, admiral fight, BBpirste thread increases.

1. I never contradicted myself. I never said Teach isn't a Yonko now, and this whole time I've been saying he became a Yonko within the timeskip, so I've been saying he was a Yonko during the timeskip.
2. That actually just proves my point. The Gorosei did not elect Teach to be the new Yonko there, they simply said he's the closest to reaching that level and status. If they were electing him to be Yonko in that page, they wouldn't be waiting to watch the world, and they wouldn't have said "He's closest to being a Yonko", they would have just said "Teach is a Yonko" right then and there. The fact that they waited and watched the world means they didn't make their decision then, they made their decision later, which was during the timeskip. If someone is the closest to being something, that means they aren't there yet, otherwise they'd be that thing, not closest to being it. If Teach was already a Yonko, it'd make no sense to say "He's closest to achieving that level" because he's already achieved it. You wouldn't say Shanks is currently close to achieving the status as a Yonko, would you?
They said they must wait and watch, THEN elect the most powerful. That means they did not elect him at the time of that page.
3. "Over the course of the two years."
"In the past two years."
Both of these phrases mean whatever they are referring two happened during the two years that consisted the time-skip, NOT before the two years.
Sengoku stepping down as Admiral was not one of the major two events that happened during the timeskip. That happened beforehand. Jinbei mentiond it because it is the prerequisite to the major event that happened, which is the duel that Aokiji and Akainu had. The other major event was Teach becoming a Yonko. This is the real timeframe:
Pre-Timeskip: Sengoku surrenders, Teach starts working towards being a Yonko, Gorosei acknowledge his actions
During the timeskip: Akainu becomes Fleet Admiral, Teach achieves the status of Yonko
Post skip: Reunion at Sabaody. Hopefully that clears it up for you.
1. I never contradicted myself. I never said Teach isn't a Yonko now, and this whole time I've been saying he became a Yonko within the timeskip, so I've been saying he was a Yonko during the timeskip.
No, clearly you did contradict yourself if you're confusing past tense to present tense.
Present tense is luffy smacking around Doffy while BB is recruiting Akoji as we speak.
2. That actually just proves my point. The Gorosei did not elect Teach to be the new Yonko there, they simply said he's the closest to reaching that level and status. Watching and waiting for what will happen in the new world is not the same as appointing world order right there and then.
No Gorosei is going to wait to place order and BB isn't going to wait to capture Bonney.
Example:
If first place through fourth won a medal in a competition, and fourth was disqualified for cheating.
Who takes the fourth medal?
Answer:The fifth guy by default. Nobody is waiting a few months to shift the ranking.
The term must is urgent, it is a verb that is needed to take the action now.
Not later.
They said they must wait and watch, THEN elect the most powerful. That means they did not elect him at the time of that page.
"Then," is nowhere to be found in his statement let alone the rest of what you posted.

Present tense is luffy smacking around Doffy while BB is recruiting Akoji as we speak.
No I didn't. You tried to make Jinbei's statement "He has started to be mentioned by people in the same breath as the Yonko" look like past tense, like "He was mentioned by people." You tried to make it seem like that's something that happened pre-skip. I said that's something that happens currently, not pre-skip, because Jinbei used "has", a present tense verb.
What?
Watching and waiting for what will happen in the new world is not the same as appointing world order right there and then.
No Gorosei is going to wait to place order and BB isn't going to wait to capture Bonney.
I never said it was? I said the exact opposite, that them waiting and watching means they didn't appoint a new Yonko right then and there.
You say the Gorosei aren't gonna wait in order to place the new Yonko, but the Gorosei said they're gonna wait to place a new Yonko. Yeah, I'm gonna go with the words from the Gorosei over yours.
Example:
If first place through fourth won a medal in a competition, and fourth was disqualified for cheating.

Answer:The fifth guy by default. Nobody is waiting a few months to shift the ranking.

Except that's not how it works. It's not like a race where the next in line is automatically given the position. The fact that they said Teach is the closest, but didn't appoint him then and there, and then said they need to wait, means that it doesn't just go by default to the closest guy, they have to actually reach that level.
A more accurate example is this:
There is a group of people who are working to be engineers. Roger is the closest to becoming an engineer because he's had the most schooling and is going to graduate soon. That does not mean that it's been decided he's an official engineer, but that out of the group of people trying to do so, he's the one that will most likely become an engineer first.
No, no they didn't :|
You're just quoting you're own interpretation.
"Then," is nowhere to be found in his statement let alone the rest of what you posted.
It's implied. The fact that that they chose to wait and watch rather than making the decision right there is why I said that. If you have to do something, but you say right before doing it "We should wait," that means you aren't doing it right away.
Over the course means during something. "Over the course of the class" means during the class. "Over the course of two years" means during two years. Teach became a Yonko over the course of two years, that means during the two years, which means during the timeskip, and therefore not pre-skip.
All Assumption
Just Stop trolling
Everything you listed is "over the course of two years."
And BB was established Yonkou during that Gorosei meeting.
Yes, and over the course of two years means during the two years. And it's not assumption. We saw the manga panels/anime scenes of Sengoku resigning. Generally, the events of a timeskip are not shown in real time, which is why it's called a timeskip; everything that happens during that time is skipped. If shown, it's via flashback, not in real time. The fact that we saw Sengoku resigning means it is not something that happened during the timeskip.
I'm now certain that you don't know what the difference between past and present tense means.
I'm here correcting your misconception and here you are butchering your tenses to suit your false scenario.
Okay, I see your game Riker
Keep trolling, it's not funny just so you know.

Gorosei: "We should wait and watch the movement in the new world."
"We must elect the most powerful."
Xanxus: "Gorosei waits and watch the movement in the new world, while electing the most powerful now."
Riker: "wait to elect BB."
I hope you see the difference between you and what I quoted from the Gorosei.
I'm the only one here siding the manga here.

Except that them electing BB is a must according to the Gorosei.
Nobody is waiting to elect the most powerful if the decision is unanimous.
And they have no reason to wait either.
As for the new world, they're waiting for the results(movement)
A more accurate example is this:

That does not mean that it's been decided he's an official engineer, but that out of the group of people trying to do so, he's the one that will most likely become an engineer first.
Clearly this is flawed.
Considering that there's no Gorosei to decide if Rogers is an engineer or not.
That meeting is to the next yonkou if you couldn't tell.
It's implied. The fact that that they chose to wait and watch rather than making the decision right there is why I said that. If you have to do something, but you say right before doing it "We should wait," that means you aren't doing it right away.
And that's where you failed.
Your implication is nothing but a mere assumption.

Bold: No it doesn't, even a five year old knows it doesn't.
"Over the course of time," is a vague conception of what event occurred around or a little bit over the time intended to.
If you kkep this up, I'm going to sig you

Sengoku was never in a flashback:
