Looks: Hawke is a raven haired man in his mid thirties; he’s very muscularly built and is almost always seen wearing armor. Hawkes body is scarred from many years of battle, but his skin still manages to retain a fine, healthy color and quality. While his skin is close to marble-white, his features are aristocratic and an almost permanent look of suspicion adorns his face. As a member of the Inuzuka clan, Hawke also retains some animalistic features, such as prolonged canines and fanglike nails. Hawke’s eyes are emerald green and shine with an almost unnatural glow. When Hawke is pushed beyond a certain point or gets angry enough, the color of his eyes changes to blood red. Most of Hawke’s body is marked with a blue metal called Lyrium. The Lyrium tattoos themselves have no practical purpose, though the artwork is extremely exotic and mesmerizing. When Hawke gets angry enough, the tattoos will begin to glow because of the massive amounts of chakra coursing through his body. The light, blue glow from the tattoos serve as a final warning before Hawke enters something akin to a berserker-rage. Hawke always carries a large rucksack with him, which contains his most precious personal effects and trinkets. For example; his old Akatsuki-robe and straw hat is stored away in the rucksack.
Hawke’s armor roughly consists of a customized, lightweight breastplate that offers maximum protection, while allowing the wearer to retain flexibility in combat. A clawed gauntlet consisting of several pieces of plate, allowing the user to freely form seals and move his fingers freely, while still offering protection from all but the strongest weapons. A pair of special-made leg-protectors, which covers the front of Hawke’s legs form the knee and downwards, consisting of several lightweight pieces that allow flexibility and comfort. Finally, the rest of Hawke’s equipment is made of top-notch quality materials and his pants and shirt are made of thick and protective studded leather.
Around his waist, Hawke carries a solid leather belt with 6 easily accessible scrolls. Each of the scrolls contains large amounts of both regular ninja gear and unorthodox weapons, such as hammers, maces and Zweihanders. The scrolls also contain a great amount of tools. He is also wearing three pouches around his waist, which contains all his regular ninja equipment, such as explosive tags and ninja wire. Hawke has a few summoning seals engraved into his armor, the seals contain all manners of weapons similar to the scrolls. The Champion has long since chosen to die fighting; he will take everyone and everything around him, with him when he dies. Therefore, a Reverse Four Symbols Seal has been prematurely placed on him, as a precaution for when death approaches. Furthermore, Hawke has 3 clones placed on Myobokuzan mountain, who are gathering Natural energy and can be summoned through one of his scrolls.

Personality

The man known as Garrett Hawke is extremely family-oriented, he puts family before everything and even the slightest implication of disloyalty towards his family is met with great hostility. As a family-man, Hawke is extremely loyal to his family; he could never lie to his closest, nor would he ever attempt to. An addition to his family through marriage is met with the same familiarity and kindness as if he or she were his long lost twin. While Hawke loves and supports his family through everything, anyone who leaves his family is subjected to his unrefined hatred. Divorce does not exist in Hawke’s vocabulary; marriage is applicable until death does the two lovers apart, not a second earlier. Hawke is radically against sexual intercourse before marriage. In his eyes, to perform such an act before promising eternal faithfulness to each other is terribly wrong.
Hawke chooses his friends with care; he can even go as far as to test their loyalty and honesty before he opens up to them. But the few friends he has are extremely close to him. Most, if not all of Hawke’s friends have fought with him or against him at least once, either before, or after their friendship formed. As with his family, Hawke exhibits extreme loyalty towards his friends and expects the same in return. Hawke is a firm believer of the ‘tree chances’ principle when it comes to his friends, though he only uses the chances in extreme situations. A friend who betrays Hawke is as good as dead; there is no salvation when the three chances have been spent. Hawke will hunt a traitor to the end of the world, tirelessly doing everything in his power to send the traitor to the next world.
Hawke himself is generally a gruff and serious man, he has developed an extremely realistic growl and sneer over the years. As a warrior, Hawke also adheres to a firm code of personal order and morality. Hawke would, for example, never hurt a child or a woman bearing a child. While Hawke has indeed seen and done terrible things during his time as a warrior and ninja, he still believes that laughter can salvage most situations. While he doesn’t laugh much himself, he has a sarcastic sense of humor that can turn many serious situations around. Hawke mostly uses his gruff exterior to scare cowards and deceivers away, he can actually be extremely understanding and helpful when the situation calls for it. Throughout his life, Hawke has developed an extreme hater for cheaters, fakers and pretenders; they are less than trash in his opinion. With his strong sense of loyalty, Hawke is also a firm believer of penance and punishment, but he always knows when to stop.
Hawke believes in love, true love, not useless schoolgirl-crushes. He devotes himself fully and utterly to the person he loves in a romantic sense and will even resort to almost primal methods, such as challenging the competition to a duel, to win his loves heart. While devotion and faithfulness is indeed virtues in themselves, they can lead to extreme emotional wounds. As such, when Hawke’s wife died he lost his main pillar of support in his life and fell to the ground. The hole left in his heart after his wife’s death has never healed and it has almost become a handicap for him. Hawke is, even after her death, so fiercely protective of his wife that he’ll kill anyone who even mentions her in a negative context. Merrill is the main reason for Hawke’s berserker rage and even the slightest mention of her can make him clutch his heart in pain.

From left to right; Grey, Garrett & Crutch. Aged 13, 17 and 32 respectively.

"Hawke this, Hawke that. Why does everything fall to me?"

Garrett was born a beautiful, late summer evening on the fourth of August in Amegakure. His parents, Leandra Fullbuster and Axle Hawke were overjoyed to finally have a child of their own. Sadly, soon after Hawke’s birth, his family deiced to move. The heated situation in Amegakure had become too dangerous, so Axle decided to move his family to a safer place; the Land of Fire to be exact. As the firstborn, Hawke was taught the skills and abilities deemed necessary to ensure his success as an adult from a very early age. From the day he reached the age of three, Hawke was taught mathematics, history, geometry and etiquette. While the lessons were boring at first, young Hawke developed an eagerness to learn that helped him throughout his entire life. When Hawke reached the age of four, his mother and father told him that he would soon be joined by another child, a sibling to be exact. Overjoyed, Hawke vowed to learn as much as he could that year, to be smart enough to tell his soon-to-be-born sibling all about the world and teach him how it worked. Hawke did all he could, but although he didn’t learn everything there was to learn about the world, he certainly tried his very best. Two months before his birthday, Hawke and his family were blessed with a little baby boy. His mother insisted on giving the newborn her maiden-surname and though he wasn’t very enthusiastic about it, her husband agreed. With that, Grey Fullbuster came to be. Initially, Hawke actually became a bit jealous of all the praise and attention Grey was showered with. But eventually, he came to accept the newborn and assumed the role of a responsible older brother. The two boys grew up to become inseparable, they did everything together. Grey tried his hardest to catch up with his brother in school and after Hawke slowed down a bit, the younger brother actually succeeded. Their teachers were marveled by the two brothers’ flawless teamwork; they balanced each other’s strengths and weaknesses perfectly. Far sooner than their mother would have liked, the boys were deemed ready to enter the ninja academy.

The years in the academy weren’t exactly filled with as much fun and games as the brothers had hoped for. While the theoretical part of the academy was easy, the practical part wasn’t. The two had hardly practiced for intense physical workouts and they quickly descended through the ranks. Grey, who had been the more active of the two boys, managed to halt his descend after about a year, while Hawke, who had always been better in most theoretical subjects, continued to fall through the ranks until only his written work kept him in the middle of the class. The older brother hated the fact that his little brother was better in most physical subjects than him and vowed to do better, but he never really succeeded.

Both brothers graduated on the same year, at respectively 12 and 8 years of age. Grey was named the Rookie of the Year, while Hawke scored highest on the written exam. As such, the two brothers were placed on the same team along with the Dead-Last of their year, Jet Nara. The newly formed Team 4’s Sensei was a gruff, sarcastic man named Crutch Kaguya, who, with a quick demonstration of his abilities, showed them how much they still needed to learn. Hawke flourished under the gruff Kaguya’s tutelage, his physical abilities skyrocketed and he developed an incredible interest in Taijutsu. Team 4 was, overall, a mediocre team. Grey’s ninjutsu, Hawke’s Taijutsu and Jet’s Nara techniques worked well together, but they lacked the distinctive ‘spark’ that all great teams need to become great.

Over the years, Hawke developed a special friendship with the local Inuzuka clan. While Hawke’s family was indeed a branch of the Inuzuka clan, no Hawke in many generations had ever bonded with a ninken. So it was a pleasant surprise for everyone, when Hawke spontaneously bonded with one of the puppies. While Hawke didn’t show any natural talent when it came to use his ninken in combat, or take care of it generally, he proved himself to be a fast learner. Not many weeks after the two had bonded, Hawke and Fenris, which he had dubbed his dog, could be seen outside training the moves shown to them by the Inuzuka Elders. While it was very abnormal for someone lacking the surname Inuzuka to learn the Inuzuka techniques, the Elders made an exception for Hawke because of his unusual bond with his ninken. In return, Hawke had to swear on his life and family, never to reveal any of the Clan’s secrets.

The years went by and through dedication and training, Team 4 qualified to participate in the upcoming Chuunin exam being hosted in Iwagakure no Sato. The months leading up to the journey were filled with extremely tiring training and last-minute advice, but finally, the day came and the team departed of the Land of Earth. The journey itself was uneventful, save discovering a few bandit camps on the way, until the group reached a large town called Kirkwall, in the land of Rain. Kirkwall had a big port since it lay right alongside a great river. The city lay perfectly in the middle of the land of Rain and was therefore used by all kinds of traders, smugglers and brigands as a massive meeting-place and market. The city itself was chaotic; it was filled to the brim with people screaming their heads off to sell their wares. Prostitutes and robbers flooded the streets and slaves were not an uncommon sight. It was a place to lose everything, but also a place to gain more than one could have ever imagined. Initially, Crutch merely wanted to halt for a break outside the city, but after listening to their pleading for hours, he eventually allowed his Genin’s to enter the city, as long as they promised to stick together. Without a care in the world, the three boys entered the city of Kirkwall.

To the boys, even though they had lived in Konohagalure for the better part of their lives, Kirkwall was huge. The three stared with open mouths at the chaos and the sheer amount of people squeezed together in the enormous city. Their initial explorations went well; they bought some food and visited the finer districts of the city. It was only when the three boys began to challenge each other into going deeper and deeper into the city that the situations slowly got out of hand. Wandering into the slum is never a good idea, especially if you’re a kid. While the three boys were high-leveled Genins, they looked harmless to the thugs, brigands and beggars that resided in the poorer parts of the city.
Miraculously, they didn’t encounter any hostilities until they reached an area of Kirkwall known as ‘Darktown’. Jet had just challenged Grey to break into a rather shaggy-looking store, when a small group of drunkards decided to teach the ‘rich’ brats a lesson. None of the boys were by any means rich in their own right. While the Hawke family did possess a sizeable fortune, they weren’t rich, just wealthy. But to Darktown, anyone who didn’t wear rags was unwelcome. Not because, as many might think, Darktown was solely inhabited by criminals, but because some nobles took a sick pleasure in parading through the poor districts, flaunting their wealth in the faces of the hungry, poor and needy. The drunkards weren’t evil or malicious; they were merely a part of a group that had been pushed around for far too long. Jet, the calm one of the three, immediately suggested that they retreated and found their Sensei. But he was quickly outvoted by the two brothers and Team 4 prepared themselves for combat. The ‘battle’, if one could even call it that, didn’t even last ten seconds. The Genins wiped the floor with the intoxicated men and sat events in motion that would change all of their lives. The battleground was quickly surrounded by curious spectators and the boys decided to vacate the area immediately.
On their way of out Darktown, Team 4 encountered a massive procession that caused the boys to accidentally split up. Jet and Grey disappeared, in the right direction towards the main gates, while Hawke, confused and slightly scared, accidentally went deeper into the city. Panicked, Grey and Jet hastened to find Crutch and inform him of the situation. The two did find Crutch and together, the three searched every corner of Kirkwall, but to no avail. Hawke was gone.
One would believe that a 14 year old boy, alone and lost in a gigantic city, would be dead within hours, even considering his ninja-training. But Hawke survived. Nobody, except Hawke knows who he worked for, trained with or fought through the 6 years he stayed in Kirkwall. It remains a mystery, even to this day.

"Let's make Kirkwall a better place for everyone."

One bright September evening, Grey Fullbuster was guarding the Front Gates of Konohagakure no Sato, when he saw the outline of someone approaching the city. Yelling for the stranger to identify himself, Grey was extremely surprised to suddenly find himself being hugged by the brother he thought had been dead for six years. With him, Hawke brought Merrill; a beautiful woman with delicate features and a friendly face. The two raven-haired newcomers were welcomed by the entire Hawke family, who rejoiced in the fact that their oldest son and Heir had returned home. Initially, the unscheduled welcoming-feast was filled with laughter, tears of joy and happy smiles. But then came the questions. Like any good and responsible family, the Hawke’s wanted to know where their son had been during the last six years, why he hadn’t contacted them and who this woman, whom he claimed was his legal wife, was. The night ended badly, with the family screaming at each other. No matter how hard they pushed, Hawke refused to answer a single one of their questions and so did Merrill.

While the first couple of months were rather strained and awkward, Hawke dedicated himself to restoring his relationship with his family, without telling them about his doings in Kirkwall. Little by little, everything returned to the way it was, except that now, Merrill was a part of the family. Despite having been officially declared KIA for six years, Hawke was reinstated as a Shinobi of the Hidden Leaf and everything seemed perfect. Sadly, barely a year after his return to the Leaf, Hawke was forced to leave.

A cold August night, Merrill was taking a stroll through the streets of Konoha. The young woman had been born and raised in Kirkwall. She was no ninja, merely an extremely skilled Swordswoman who had mastered several sword-styles. Humming a soft tune as she walked down the street, she was hardly prepared when a very intoxicated Chuunin appeared in front of her, reeking of alcohol and cigarettes. The man was an inconsequential Chuunin who had chosen to spend his salary on a few bottles of Whiskey and some ‘fun’. But when he couldn’t find any woman who was willing to give him a good time, he grumpily headed towards the more shady establishments in town. That was when he stumbled across the young beauty. While her talent was with the sword, Merrill was no beginner at hand-to-hand combat and the Chuunin was weakened by all the alcohol he had consumed earlier. She managed to fend the attacker off after s short struggle. But before he went down, the Chuunin managed to land a good hit on Merrill’s stomach. Normally, a blow to the stomach would do little to harm the tough woman, but during the last few months, Merrill had been exceptionally careful with herself, for she was pregnant.
Terrified of what might have happened to her baby, she stumbled home to Hawke, who immediately brought her to Konoha’s hospital. After the initial tests, the doctors told the couple that the baby wasn’t lost, but for an unknown reason, Merrill’s body had begun to reject it. They were going to lose it. Frustrated and angry, Hawke all but ordered the doctors to do whatever they could to save his child, but the doctors informed him that there was nothing they could do, except allowing Merrill to stay in the hospital for observation.

That night, Hawke snuck into the hospitals administration to find something, anything that could help his wife. By chance, he stumbled over a secret seal that would allow his baby to survive, at the cost of his wife’s life right after the birth. The choice was impossible for Hawke to make and he knew it wasn’t his choice in the end. So he consulted the only one who was allowed to make such a choice: Merrill. With tears in her eyes and a raspy voice, the beautiful woman from Kirkwall told him that the baby was much more important than her. That night, neither Hawke nor Merrill slept; they sat in the dark room and talked about everything and nothing until the suns first rays shone through the window.

The seal that could save his wife was forbidden, so Hawke was forced to find a controversial way to make someone place it on his wife. By using his own forbidden technique called Kyoku, Hawke ensnared the senses of a retired medical ninja and made her place the seal on his wife’s belly, killing the medic the process. But while Hawke’s technique was extremely powerful, it also had terrible repercussions. Hawke went into a coma not long after the technique ended. Desperate to get out of the city before the authorities arrested Hawke, the weakened Merrill sought help from Grey, who helped the couple escape Konoha and slip across the border. Having no other choice, the pregnant woman carried her husband through the Land of Rain and into the Land of Earth to seek shelter at her only living relatives; her uncle and aunt.

"They say your life flashes in front of your eyes before you die. Any helpful flashes yet?"

Iwagakure didn’t exactly welcome the Leaf-Shinobi or his wife. Immediately upon their arrival, the couple was thrown into a cell and left alone. For a whole week, Merrill nursed Hawke and fed him the meager meals, given to them by their guards through a small hatch. Finally, the couple received a visitor in the form of Merrill’s uncle; Jinbei, who, along with his wife, Kasha, had managed to convince the Tsuchikage, Toku, to release the two into their custody.

Upon their release, Hawke was immediately hospitalized and through intensive treatment, his condition improved steadily. Meanwhile, Merrill explained their situation to her relatives, who, thankfully, understood their predicament and agreed to house them, though Merrill spent most of her time at the hospital, sitting Hawke’s bedside. When he finally woke up, Hawke opened his eyes to see his beautiful wife sitting on a chair beside his bed, leaned forwards with her head on his stomach, very much asleep. He couldn’t have asked for more.

The next few months were hectic, Merrill and Hawke spent as much time together as they possibly could, trying to enjoy the time they had left. One was never seen without the other. Hawke was continually asked to swear an oath of fealty to Iwagakure and become a Shinobi to bolster their ranks. But he refused every time, saying that he needed to spend time with his wife.
At sunrise, April the third, Merrill’s water broke and she was rushed to the hospital. Hawke was by her side through it all, urging her to push and declaring his undying love for her again and again. The two only had eyes for each other and when a beautiful baby-girl finally joined their family after 14 hours of labor, they only had eyes for her. For a moment, the family seemed perfect and idyllic, but the seal still needed a sacrifice. Two lives for one; that was the deal. Merrill died with a smile on her lip, whispering the girls name into her lovers’ ear. Laura Hawke didn’t cry when she was born, but when her mother breathed out for the last time; she sobbed and cried alongside her father.

Hawke was devastated by Merrill’s death. He didn’t sleep, he didn’t eat, he only cared for his daughter and sneered at anyone who got too close to her. In his mixture of deep sorrow and rage, Hawke even insulted Jinbei and Kasha. Something he would’ve never done under normal circumstances, especially considering their kindness. It took a beating from Jinbei to force Hawke out of his depression and even then, he rarely spoke and never smiled. Merrill’s death changed him from being a generally easy-going and friendly man, to gruff and serious warrior. A month after Merrill’s death, Hawke swore fealty to Iwagakure no Sato and joined their ranks. He was immediately placed on a 5-man scouting team, consisting of Loki, Leaf, Faith, Nagato and himself. Because of his special situation with his daughter, Hawke cut a deal with the Tsuchikage. Instead of taking missions regularly, Hawke would go on a single mission once a year. The mission would last for a month and would be important and tough enough to count as a whole years worth of missions and assignments.

Being a father was tough. Hawke knew nothing about raising children since there hadn’t been any at the Hawke’s since he and Grey were children themselves. But with the help of Kasha and Jinbei, who he gradually became closer with, he managed. For the next few years, Hawke’s life was tolerable, though he still missed Merrill terribly. He also became friends with his team. While he only worked with them one month every year; the missions were intense enough to forge bonds that couldn’t compare to normal friendships. The squad became legendary in Iwagakure for their teamwork.

Seven years after Laura’s birth, Hawke, living in a house right beside Jinbei and Kasha, was sought out by his uncle, Perry, who he hadn’t seen since he was very young. Perry had left Konoha for unknown reasons when Garrett was five. He was never heard from again. So it was a great surprise when he suddenly knocked on Hawke’s door, wanting to talk to him. After a bit of small-talk and a couple of awkward introductions, Hawke sent Laura to her room and the two men sat down and talked. Perry, without any further ado, offered a position in a newly formed organization known as Akatsuki. There really was nothing to ponder, for Hawke had his own reasons for joining.

At an early age, Hawke had begun to train Laura in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu. Hawke wanted his daughter to be the best she could be, so he didn’t just teach her the Ninja Arts. Laura was taught mathematics, geometry, psychology, anything that she might need in her life. The subject Laura showed enthusiasm and promise in were expanded, while the ones she didn’t like were trashed. Laura was a happy girl, the light of Hawke’s life. She was his only real connection to Merrill after her death. The Hawk, as people had taken to calling him, was extremely protective of his daughter. So when she was diagnosed to with a lethal disease, a product of the seal her mother had worn, Hawke searched the entire Land of Earth in search of a doctor who could cure his daughter, but to no avail. In anger over his unsuccessfulness, Hawke took to stealing forbidden scrolls in his tireless search for a cure.
Laura’s disease was his only reason for joining the Akatsuki. Perry gave Hawke his word that the organization would take care of it all. Putting his family before his own honor and sense of rightfulness, Hawke joined the organizations without blinking. The day after, Hawke and Laura left Iwagakure, leaving behind them only a short letter, apologizing to his friends and family.

Hawke’s time in Akatsuki was long and filled to the brim with surprises. Upon their arrival, Hawke discovered than none other than Grey had joined the organization. The two brothers were finally reunited and Grey was introduced to Laura, who immediately took a liking to him. Hawke was also introduced to Gobi, who, along with Grey and Hawke, was the newest member of Akatsuki. While the three never became quite as close as Team 4 had been, they still saw each other as comrades in arms.

Hawke did many dishonorable things during his time in Akatsuki. His heart bled with the knowledge that he was exposing his only child to such a dark side of the world at such a young age. But despite his feelings on Akatsuki, the Hawke-Heir pushed forward to achieve his ultimate goal: The curing of his daughter.

During a mission to the Land of Waves, Hawke was partnered up with the founder of Akatsuki; The Dark King. The man was initially very professional, cold and calm and seemed to demand respect from everyone around if. But as the mission proceeded, the man’s behavior became more and more psychotic and crazy. He seemed to be nothing but a mad killer and Hawke was immensely disappointed. From that point on, Hawke never tried to understand the doings of Akatsuki again. To him, it was naught but a madman’s plan to control the world. While the Leader was indeed very unpredictable, he was actually quite crafty and devious. The man’s plans weren’t stupid, they were well thought out and everything was accounted for. Their mission was successful and Hawke returned to the Akatsuki hideout with many things to ponder.

The months went by, mission after mission was completed. Laura was extremely tolerant of her new environment. She didn’t flinch or back away when she met some of the other Akatsuki members. While Hawke tried his very best to keep her away from the rest of the organization, it was inevitable that she would meet and talk to some of them. While most of the members were everything but interested in talking to a kid, a few of them had family themselves and enjoyed small-talking with Laura. Especially Tenzo, who was a kindhearted soul when measured against most of the other members, took an interest in the young girl. When Hawke was away on a mission, Tenzo even trained her in basic Ninjutsu. While Hawke didn’t exactly approve of her daughter being friends with criminals, he could hardly voice his displeasure without seeming like a hypocrite. So he allowed it, but warned Tenzo that if anything happened to Laura, there would be consequences.

Two years after Hawke joined Akatsuki, The Dark King decided that the organization needed to become better skill-wise. As such, it became mandatory to share one of your techniques or abilities with you’re a comrade in Akatsuki. Every member of the organization knew that The Dark King was a raving lunatic, but nobody could have predicted that he would demand that the hardened criminals shared their secrets with each other. While nobody outright refused him, the Leaders decision created a rift in Akatsuki that would later cause it to be completely remodeled. A select few members actually followed the ‘law’ and shared a technique or two with the Akatsuki, but it was never something spectacular or unusually powerful. The only one who actually shared one of his secrets was the Leader himself.

One evening, The Dark King asked Hawke to follow him outside the hideout. He didn’t say why and Hawke didn’t ask any questions. Kissing his daughter on her forehead, he promised to come back as soon as possible. Hawke didn’t return for a week, nor did the Leader. When he did return, Hawke was covered in sweat, his clothes were torn and he had several ugly wounds and scratches. Neither Hawke nor Leader told anyone what had happened, not that many cared, of course. Grey and Laura were the only ones who seemed really worried about the Hawk and as such, they were the only ones to hear Hawke’s vague answer. ‘He taught me to fight again’, was all he said.
Over the next few months the morale in Akatsuki steadily dropped. Fights broke out throughout the hideout and everyone were extra careful with who they spoke to. It was bad times in Akatsuki and Hawke finally felt that he had done enough. He wanted his daughter cured immediately. Perry, who was Hawke’s regular partner in Akatsuki, discussed the issue with the Leader, who allowed them to go and provided them with the means.

Together, the three traveled to the top of a large mountain in the Land of Lightning. There, they met an old Sealing Master who, in return for an enormous amount of money, agreed to cure Laura. The process took three days. The sealing master constantly painted seals onto Laura’s body and chanted in a foreign language. The air was so thick with chakra that even a civilian would be able to feel it. But finally, after so much waiting, Laura was finally cured. Overjoyed, Hawke thanked the Sealing Master profusely and embraced his daughter, before he began to prepare for the journey home. Not back to the Akatsuki hideout, but home. The three went their separate ways; Perry went back to Akatsuki, carrying with him a letter from Hawke, telling Grey to come to Iwagakure as fast as he could. Meanwhile, Garrett carried his little girl home to Iwagakure on his back, smiling widely during the whole trip.

Laura was welcomed back to Jinbei and Kasha’s house with kisses, tears and hugs, while Hawke was welcomed with a fist to the face. The beating Jinbei gave for running away without saying anything was the stuff of legends. But both men knew that there was nothing serious about it and the beating ended with both men laughing themselves half to death. Garrett Hawke, the serious man who never laughed and only rarely smiled, howled with laughter as he lay in the older couple’s garden, bleeding from several wounds. Not soon after, Hawke’s old team came by to welcome their comrade back. The stories Hawke told the small audience were both horrifying and humorous, the man proved himself to be a great storyteller. Hawke did keep some of his experiences in Akatsuki to himself; there were certain things that nobody needed to know.

Not many days after their arrival, Grey finally came to Iwagakure no Sato. Since he was no longer registered as a Shinobi of Konoha, he was allowed to enter the city, though the Tsuchikage insisted on monitoring his doings. The surrogate family discussed their options and it was decided that Grey moved in with Laura and Hawke.

The years went by, Laura grew older and so did Grey and Hawke. The two brothers began to take missions together, they became known as a fearsome duo throughout the Ninja World. Everything was as it should be, until Isabela happened.

Hawke was 32 at the time, not exactly young, but not old either. After yet another long mission, he and his brother had decided to go to a bar and relieve some stress. They ordered a bottle of Sake and the night began. As more and more alcohol went into their system, more and more Iwagakure Shinobi’s joined the festivities. When the clock struck 12, the entire bar was filled to the brim with Shinobi’s and Kunoichi’s of all ages and sizes, drinking, laughing and talking. After a while, Hawke retreated to the first floor of the building and went outside, staring at the beautiful full-moon from one of the balconies. That was when he met Isabela. In his stupor, Hawke had simply entered an unlocked room and used its balcony. Coincidentally, the room was Isabela’s for the night. The woman was younger than Hawke by approximately ten years. She had beautiful dark skin, chocolate brown eyes and her hair was silky black, with a hint of dark brown in it. Her delicate features and graceful way of carrying herself entranced Hawke from the second he first laid eyes on her slender form.
The two talked for a long time. Isabela didn’t seem the least bit bothered by his presence, so Hawke stayed. Garrett had never laid hands on another woman since he and Merrill were married. He had vowed to remain faithful to her no matter what, even after her death. But as the night progressed and the two got to know each other better, the lust and alcohol pushed his vow out of his mind. Isabela was witty, her laughter was magical and her voice drew Hawke in like a light does a moth. The night with Isabela was passionate. It made him forget about everything for a few, precious moments. Hawke fell into a deep sleep afterwards; his mind was foggy and blank like a cloud.

Hawke awoke several days later, laying in a ditch in the slums of Iwagakure no Sato sporting several wounds and torn clothes. Lying beside him was Isabela, looking just as bad as him. After waking her up and questioning her about the evening, it was quickly revealed that, like him, she didn’t remember anything after she fell asleep. While the two were a bit awkward about what had happened that night, Hawke in particular regretted it; he offered to lend her some clothes. Without further ado, the two departed towards Hawke’s house. Halfway there, a searing pain between his shoulder blades caused Hawke to fall to his knees in agony. Ripping his short off to find the source of the pain, Hawke found a Cursed Seal adorning his back like some sort of macabre tattoo.

The two arrived at Hawke’s house to find it burning, with Grey waving them over from Jinbei’s and Kasha’s house. He told them that two men wearing Akatsuki robes had attacked the house, attempting to kill him and Laura. It was later revealed that the same had happened in Konoha, killing Hawke’s and Grey’s mother in the process. Overcome by rage, Hawke departed towards Konoha with Laura and Grey to attend Leandra’s funeral.

It has been three years since then. After his mother’s funeral, Hawke and Laura both vowed to hunt Akatsuki down and kill every last member of the organization. Isabela, who later gave birth to a boy that looked suspiciously like Hawke, traveled with them for the first few months until her pregnancy began to show. Hawke has sworn not to abandon Isabela or her son, promising to take responsibility for his actions. He sends her money every month and the two have become close friends over the years. Laura is quite fond of Igneel, which Isabela dubbed her son and treats him like a true brother.

Hawke’s quest is far from over, but with the help of all his friends and family, he might just achieve his goal one day. Or maybe he’ll join his beloved in the afterlife prematurely. Only time will tell.

-Wind Affinity-
Hawke has a primary affinity for wind; it’s always been his favorite element. Throughout his entire life, Hawke has felt a stronger connection to the wind than any other element, he always feels much more lively and refreshed when the wind blows. Because of his affinity for wind, Hawke can use all wind techniques with much grace and ease than he can utilize any other element with. His affinity for wind also enables him to use all wind techniques with merely one handseal, unless, of course, they don’t require any handseals.

-Water Affinity-
Hawke has a lesser, secondary affinity for water. This enables him to use water techniques without straining his chakra and body as much as they originally would. Furthermore, techniques that summons water seem to always be a bit bigger when Hawke performs them, though not stronger in any way.

-Taijutsu-
Hawke took special interest in Taijutsu from a young age. While he didn’t have any natural talent for it, he trained rigorously form a young age. Throughout his life, Hawke has trained his body to withstand great damage and pressure, not to mention improving his overall physique. During his travels, Hawke has learned several fighting-styles and different types of martial arts, such as Aikido, Kung Fu and Muay Thai. The extreme training program that Hawke follows easily shows in his speed and strength, being able to lift very heavy burdens and move on par with other Masters of Taijutsu. The many instructors that have assisted Hawke in his quest to learn as many styles as possible have also attributed to him developing his muscle-memory in regard to Taijutsu to such an extent that he is able to fight nearly on reflexes alone.

-Kenjutsu-
While Kenjutsu is second to Taijutsu, Hawke is still considered an expert swordsman. He has mastered several styles and moves with a grace and ferocity that few can match. While Hawke lacks the true finesse that marks a Master Swordsman, he makes up for it with his raw strength and great endurance.

-Toad Sage Prodigy-
Hawke was noted to be one of the people who mastered the Sage Arts in a very short amount of time. It is unknown what exactly makes Hawke so special when it comes to the Sage Arts, but he seem to have a special connection with nature and its energies, which allows him to control Natural Energy more easily than any other Toad Sage before him. Hawke’s natural talent with Natural Energy and meditation also directly affects his talent with Senjutsu. He is considered one the most dangerous, yet also one of the most anonymous, Toad Sages in existence.

Companions

Fenris
Fenris is Hawke’s ninken and has been a trustworthy companion for many years. Fenris is a tall and muscular wolf dog with a lot of pride and experience. While he might be considered old by normal standards, ninkens live much longer than normal dogs. Some even follow their partner to the grave. Fenris’ fur is brown; with a grey tint to it that marks him as one of the older and wiser members of the pack. Fenris, like his master, is extremely physically strong and can easily rip a grown man to shreds, not even armor can stop him. Fenris has vibrant green eyes and his fangs and claws are sharper than most. As a testament to his loyalty to Hawke, Fenris has several Lyrium-marking adorning his body. Like Hawke, the Lyrium flares softly if the wolf dog gets angry enough.

Bianca
Hawke’s newest companion. Bianca is a midnight-black hawk with an intelligent glint in her black eyes. The proud bird is used for reconnaissance and mapping the terrain.

I didn't like that the made the combat reminiscent of an anime. ~_~
The conversation wheel is a fail. I can basically make it through the game and be friends with everyone just by clicking the top option everytime without listening to the dialogue.

And the way you talked to your party/companions was a major step backwards. o_o
