An early released copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been sold on eBay for $1,725

A leaked copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been sold on eBay for $1,725.

Unauthorized copies of the game were mistakenly released into the wild this week, when a retailer placed the game on sale. MW3 is not due to be officially released until November 8th.

One copy of the game was placed on eBay and has been picked up for nearly 29 times the retail price of the game. It received a total of 88 bids.

But early play may carry an additional price. Xbox Live's Director of Policy and Enforcement for Stephen Tolouse warned that playing the game online pre-release could result in a ban. He tweeted, "Pre-release play not authorized. Please be patient. Playing early may impact your account!"

In other news (SPOILER ALERT) a leaked video from the game has appeared online showing a scene likely to cause controversy in the days ahead. The scene portrays the death of a child in a central London terrorist attack.

Activision lawyers have been quick of the mark, with the video pulled from most news sites.

Well, I bet that this dude did it just as a Prank or it was Activision who did that.
The same happened with Black Ops last year, someone "bought" it for 2000.

You realize the person who paid the1700$ has already made it back by now?

He bought the game and uploaded to the internet, and receives money bak in donations. So basically he got a free copy if mw3.

You do realize that you're wrong?
He wouldn't make anything out of it since that Game is already accessible for everyone since the 1st November. (Got leaked shortly after Halloween)

The only thing he would make money of is people downloading his links which:
1#: Wouldn't get him much.
2#: Wouldn't be even useful since so many people already uploaded it.

Sorry but you obviously don't know what you're talking about. :p

I got the game 3 days ago for $5 and already started story, but not online yet because ain't getting banned yet. :p
