Ya know, I consider myself one of the best in this game. Not saying THE best, just good enough to be considered elite. With that being said, I play a certain way to look the part of the best. I use legit teams, dont spam( unless spammed first) and I say gg after a match, even if I lose. Because of my knowledge I dont complain anymore when I face spammers because I understand that this is a game built on spamming, annoying yes, but I cant stop it, so why complain?
The other day I was hosting a ranked match, like I usually do, and a game developer game into my lobby.I figured ok, this is going to be a good match lets do this. We pick our teams, I pick the usual Tsunade and sakura. He picks 3 hokage with hidan and masked man... Im like....damn he plays like that too?? Geez.. so anyway. we fight at the end of it, he ends up winning. grr.
I ask him, your a game developer why do you play so cheap? He says what was cheap? I said your team and tactics. Then he said to me, Listen kid, I helped make this game. When we made this game, the idea was the people pick 3 people to make a team of their choice to bring into battle, I don't know where you gamers got the idea that you HAVE to use real teams. Of course it is a nice concept, that is not how to game has to be played.
I thought to myself...wow a developer just told me the idea behind this game, was the way I was thinking wrong? Will I be a bad player if I decided to take his advice and pick the team I really want to pick, instead of the real teams I usually pick?
He also said, ever realize why the people are at the top of the leaderboards? Because they understand what I just told you and dont comply to social norms that the game must be played a certain way. It is because you think the way you do is the reason why you lost to me.
That hit home, now I dont know what to think about how I should go about this game when I play.. What do you guys think? What would you have said in my position?
