Gamamaru and Jiraiya were good friends, Gamamura gave Jiraiya predictions, the only one he did this with since Hagoromo himself
He even knew about the Rinnegan, the only one that knew about it i detail, others thought it was myth, like Kakashi.
He knew this beacasue Gamamura told him. When he and Tsunade/Orochimaru met Nagato and the kids for the first time Jiraiya immideiately noticed the Rinnegan. Tsunade and Orochimaru knew nothing, Orochimaru even wanted to kill the kids. If Orochimaru knew he would have tried to kidnapped Nagato and taken his eyes.
