Gai > Madara
Ok, so looking at the diagram it's clear that there is a pipeline of channels and blockages against the flow of chakra in the body. As each gate is released, the flow of chakra increases, like a conveyor belt speeding up.
However, the 8th gate has no chakra channel coming out of it like the other gates do.
I believe this is because the 8th gate allows chakra to flow out of the natural chakra network/pipeline, perhaps binding with the blood of the user. The amount of chakra release through this gate is normally a delicate trickle, probably maintaining life force throughout the blood stream.
However, once the 8th gate is released, it will turn the user into a taijutsu God, with indescribable levels of strength, speed and stamina. It's a double edged sword, because the cells of the body will literally metabolize themselves to oblivion from the extreme overexertion. There will be no negative feedback loop, nothing holding back his physical strength.
And yes, Madara is strong. He has an insane pool of chakra energizing and maintaining his body. From reading the previous chapter it's clear he himself is at a 7th gate level of taijustu. But his body is still subject to physical damage (Obito stabbing him).
My prediction is that Gai will smash an arm or leg off. Something that Madara can't casually heal like a stab wound.
