Gaining the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan requirements

Can someone tell me cause i have been wondering, to get the eternal mangekyou sharingan does it just have to be a sibling. I mean can it be like your mother, father, grand- parents, 1st cousins?, cause Kishi never really went into great detail about who you can take a MS from to gain the EMS. Cause i thought about it like this " What if your sibling is too young and doesn't have the sharingan or MS but your grand-father or father is dying can you just take his MS"; I mean i sounds like it could work ,doesn't it.

i think that the closer the relation the better it turns out hence why most do it with siblings, but what you say is possible.

I think Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan is more effective the closer the bloodline, best if its twins as the compatibility is at its highest then, I think it could be used with anyone but the compatibility rating wouldn't be as high which could maybe lead to negative side affects, such as excess chakra usaged or limited potential?

Take for instance, Madara took his brother's eye and sasuke from itachi's!!
And it also mentioned in the manga that it has to be a siblings!
