Not really. She is the same as ever. Not really worked on much nor that downplayed. And we still have to see how it ends.

Rest is just haters who exaggerate everything or twist it into something writer didn't intend to and kids who follow them.

About the complaints of Naruto's laid back behaviour:

If Naruto was allowed to fight seriously he would take all the spotlight away and it was about Sarada's family this time around. So he has to let them handle it. People will be irked just the same if Naruto has to step up and be the one to save Sasuke and family from a bunch of clones at this stage unless this series was longer.

Bro at this point Boruto and Mitsuki seem ten times more interesting than her. I won't be suprised if she is over shadowed by them in the movie.

You're right, there was nothing left for her character to begin with to be destroyed. I hate how Kishi forcefully tried to do damage control with her. By showing she is a good parent. When in the end she is nothing but a liar to her daughter. Naruto showed better parenting skills than her in this gaiden in my opinion. Yet even he was left being a cheerleader throught out the gaiden.

@bold: Yeah if you take into account what she went through. She did indeed grow in character. How ever knowing this all was nothing but a mommy daddy issue. It seemed to be shitty writing.

But when we saw Naruto meet his real parents you could tell he felt a feeling he has never felt before. Which could have been avoided easily. Do not include naruto nor sasuke to this spin off. Kishimoto knew that there's no way that they couldn't take down an easy target as this wanna be itachi [shin] and his shadow permanent clones. He should have went to use the same plot as part 1 [the exams]. Introduce a mini villain like shin jr, with sharingan ofc, and from there it would have been better than the thing we're getting so far... disgusting.

So he has to let them handle it. It's not the managa Naruto where he has to be the one to give it a finishing touch.

Then he should have kept naruto in the village and we wouldn't have many nerfs here and there. It's laughable because when sarada was going to get hurt by the shurikens [i believe] he didn't use susano for some unknown reasons... nerf? I freaking think so. It breaks the logic already establish by kishimoto himself.

There's a rumor that that is going to be the case. Kishimoto made this spin off so she could get some relevancy in the movie[vs match] and that's it. That's what he did with NH, they made a movie about it to give them some development.

Iruka didn't raise him as a kid. He was his caring teacher who supported him for a period and among the first one of those to befriend him. But he was not always there when Naruto as being shunned by the villagers and growing up as an orphan. He didn't become really close to Naruto till Hiruzen nudged him in that direction pointing out Naruto's situation and need for some attention. Iruka is by nature kind and he understood what sixth wanted him to and then incidents like with Mizuki gave them further closeness. Still not a parent.
