[Theory] Gai was not at full strength; he should have won!

Gai had several debilitating injuries even before he went 8th gate.

These are serious setbacks that seriously kept Gai from fighting at his full potential. Madara should have died.

Add this to the fact that Night Moth uses Gai's arms to propel himself forwards while using his leg for the kick only.

That means that Gai, with one arm completely useless, was not in perfect balance nor speed.

Madara would have died if he fought Healthy Prime Gai!!

actually i agree, he was fighting for like 20h before facing Madara. Gai would have been able to do like 5 more evening elephants and after dealing more dmg with them he would have annihilated Madara with final move.

That's like saying "Prime Sakura" could kill Minato.... Fact of the matter is, KISHI didn't want gai to kill madara. I don't think KISHI could make it anymore simpler then that. Sasuke and Naruto will kill him. Does anyone think before posting or just run straight to OMG this should of happened? Write your own manga and make your chars kill whoever you want them to kill.....

Wrong, Kishi wrote the panel for Gai's broken ribs and arm specifically to keep the full potential of the 8th gate hidden from the readers and to save Madara for Sasuke and Naruto. It's as simple as that.

He wrote the panel to showcase us the power of the 8 gates considering you die when you use it. @Bold I can easily say he kept sasuke from knowing rinnegan abilities because he's so smart he figure away around all the techniques and kill the user......

No, the panel I am talking about is before he used the 8th gate. He had broken bones. Why would Kishi do that?

Same reason why Kishi had Itachi dying of AIDs while fighting Sasuke or Nagato be weakened when fighting Naruto during invasion of pain.

It's to move the story along while still preserving their legendary status. Same with Gai.

Madara got kicked around like a punching bag, all he could do was laugh and take every punch & kick.

- Why did kishi hold itachi back? never showed us full power itachi,
- Took both minato arms and lack his ability to use sm and he had perfect sage mode (didnt need ma and pa on his shoulders)
- Limited Nagato mobility

It's to keep hacked chars somewhat less hacked imo

Agree rep+ plus u forgot he never got healed when madara wrapped gai in wood style nor got healed since he started fighting kurama said he heal him but before he could he lost the mode and naruto lost it again well until now naruto saved gai
