...no. As far as I remember, Gai trained Lee, but Lee is the only one who has been aknowledged as the "Taijutsu Specialist". Your conjecture is just that... conjecture. You need evidence to claim these statements.

Ergo, as manga has not shown any sign of Gai using weights, I can't trust your claims.

Lee uses/used them for training to get to master level, but Gai's already there.

Lee and Gui are in the same boat, Gui might be able to use some chakra compare to Lee but not much as everybody else.Their both Ninjutsu and genjutsu deprived children in a Ninjutsu/Genjutsu World.

...plus, there is also the possibility that (assuming that both Gai and Lee used weights) both of them stopped using them before war. The condition to use the fifth gate was to protect their nindou (Lee put off the weight to use the fifth gate), and War is a valid reason for this purpose.

Finally, my claim is that we don't have enough information to make conjectures at this rate.

If Lee really copied Gai in all senses then Lee should be able to use 'Kai', just as Gai. But no, Lee doesn't use ninjutsu, because manga has not shown any sign of him using Ninjutsu.

Applying the same logic, if Lee really copied Gai, Gai would be using weights... but if you don't hold even a single manga page showing the proof of this claim, then Gai using weights is just baseless conjecture.

I can't discard the possibility, it exists. But the claim itself is far from being a fact, because you don't hold any evidence to prove the positive.

If OP don't hold evidence and just spout conjecture based on a similar character (his student, Lee), then OP is using the Argumentum ad Ignorantiam fallacy to bring up the questioning line of this thread.

This said, there is no need to try and counter me, because I'm really considering the existence of the possibility of Gai using weights. But, different from other people, I know well the thin line that separate facts from possibilities, hence in this particular case, I know very well that you can't prove the certainity of Gai using weights during the war.

Finally, Gai using weights during the war IS NOT MANGA FACT UNTIL DEFINITE EVIDENCE IS BOUGHT INTO THIS THREAD.
