Obito definitely easily reacted to 7th gate.

Guy was releasing an aura, then went 7th gate against madara. As far as that shows, aura doesn't exactly = 7th gate.. so i'm not really convinced.

Or Itachi deceptively tricks Gai into hitting a crow clone, which will automatically place him under the Dusk Crow genjutsu, enabling Itachi ample time to land a lethal blow. Gai will most certainly be oblivious to the fact he's even under an illusion, considering the setting of the genjutsu is an exact replica of the real world.

Tsukuyomi and amterasu are useless aginst a 7th gate Gai. Plus Itachi can only hold susano for about 5 mins before collapsing. Also, Yata mirror is no use beause it only blocks ninjutsu, not taijutsu. This is just my opinion, but I honestly think that 7th gate Gai is fatser than susanoo, and if that's the case then, tosuka sword is also useless. Gai takes this.

I doubt Genjutsu would work on Gai in Gates.

When Gai's in Gates, his chakra's constantly flowing at full force. I'm pretty sure this'd act as a passive Genjutsu Kai.

Only if they decided to completely stop moving and start drawing in natural energy, and that wouldn't be a practical way of breaking Genjutsu.

Gai in Gates however, is constantly having his chakra bursting in full force and is feeling pain from actually being in Gates too.
