Gai vs Itachi

I have seen gai vs basically everyone today from hashi to minato but no itachi? :Omg: I would have said obito but any form of obito shits on him U_U if he uses 8th gate it's GG gai. So what's your though? I think itachi has this through tsukiomi still and yata is said to block everything in manga.

How so if obito has his intangibility back? He can just stand there because I doubt gai has any continuos 5 minute attack to affect his whole body.

I agree with your thinking, except Tsukuyomi...Gai won't get caught in it. Imo I don't see him getting passed Yata though.

Well, 7th Gate Gai's Hirudora broke Madara's Susano'o, so there's that.
I also think that Gai 6th Gate and above will be too fast for Tsukyomi.
The only things I see working is Amaterasu, but I think Gai could outrun it? Sasuke almost did, and he was in CS level 1.
Maybe if Itachi barely manages to do the pattern required for Izanami to work, he can set it into motion.
Yet again, Gai's speed would be too much...
So, I think it depends... In a open space, like where Sasuke fought Itachi, Gai wins. In a cave, Itachi could get a win.

Maito Gai could definitely outlast Itachi, he does not to hit 7th Gate to keep up with Itachi.


OT:

It could go either way, high difficulty.

Maito Gai is immune to Sharingan Genjutsu due to him looking at one's feet, Amaterasu can be dodged via 7th Gate, and Susano'o is fodderized by Hirudora [he blew Madara back and he could have potentially died and revived via Edo Tensei].

There was a clear reason Itachi warned the AKATSUKI to not underestimate Gai not once, but TWICE.

Itachi's only hope for defending himself is to pull out yata and totsuka blade which will kill him in 2 minutes.

They both die in the end but i believe Itachi dies first.​

I think 7th gated Guy takes it. He can probably keep the 7th gate longer than Itachi can maintain Susanoo. Guy is a stamina beast.

Since if Gai using 8 gates = dead Gai, it will be a draw even if he kills Itachi.

And obviously Itachi > 7 gates Gai.

So yeah, Itachi takes this.
