With Manga intel:

-Gai knows Sasuke has fire style, CM lvl 1, Chidori (basic), and Sharingan.

-Sasuke knows Gai is a taijutsu master. But likely doesn't know about the gates.

Hebi Sasuke > Base Gai, we can all agree on that.

The problem is that Gai is going to begin this fight in base due to a lack of knowing how dangerous Hebi is...this gives Sasuke the perfect window of time to take this before Gai starts using the gates. Before I get the BS Gate blitz responses...Gai didn't use gates against Kisame (who's in Akatsuki) + while his students were drowning he still didn't pull it out until forced to.

Gai is going to look at Sasuke's feet. Sasuke is going to Chidori enhance is sword, Gai will likely notice the light emitted from the blade and pick up on it.

Sasuke poops on Gai and either: Gets stabbed by his sword, or gets electrocuted by Chidori stream, Cqc against Hebi Sasuke is insanely dangerous especially if Gai comes at him in base. I give this to Hebi Sasuke.

With full intel: Gai uses the gates and destroys Hebi Sasuke. Gai wins.

Whenever intel is never stated, I go with manga intel. In that case Hebi Sasuke wins.

I'll agree that he can dodge Sasuke's sword. He's not dodging chidori stream, you can't judge that attack coming based on body movement.

I'll say it again since you seemed to completely disregard this point: Gai did not pull out gates against an Akatsuki member who has the ethos of being listed as an S class criminal. The point you brought up was only Gai acknowledging that he was from the Uchiha clan to justify learning Chidori.

Please don't put base Gai's speed on Itachi's level. Itachi was capable of parring KCM Naruto in Taijutsu, the same guy who dodged supposedly Ay's fastest attack. (I'm going to laugh if I get called an Itachi wank for this one, but it's evident in the manga...)

I could also bring up attacks such as chidori true spear + Senbons which would require Gai to look at Sasuke's hands/arms if he wants to dodge. That puts high risk on Gai falling in to his genjutsu.

KCM Naruto isn't good at taijutsu to begin with, he needs sm frog kata to be relevant. Movement speed does not equate to fighting speed/ability. I can agree that by feats Itachi might be faster than base Gai but matching Naruto in taijutsu while having a conversation is not one of those feats to show it.

I would agree with that only with FTG users such as Tobirama and Minato. Since Tobirama would have killed SM Madara if his limbs could move at FTG speed.

The thing is though that if KCM grants Naruto faster legs it grants faster arms.

That is a good example. Especially since Sharingan didn't help Sasuke in that fight because Sharingan only helps with linear movements hence how he dodged V2 Bee who was faster than base, yet got fodderized by base.

The thing is though that Killer bee's fighting style is radically different from normal ninjas. Ninjas like KCM naruto, Ay, and Itachi come straight at their opponent with their fists/Kunai. Although the difference with Itachi is that precognition is likely what gives him the capabilities in Taijutsu he has.

I should add Killer Bee still needed speed to hit Sasuke though, if his limbs moved as slow as nails Sasuke would have found an opening with ease.

That is the thing though, Gai doesn't fight linearly, look at the kisame fight where he was able to disarm samehada. A better example would be the encounter he had with Obito with his nunchuks, his reflexes and skills allowed him to avoid Obito's intangibility attacks + gunbai.

Gai pulled out 6th Gates from the start against that same Akatsuki member. Gai fought Rinnegan Obito in base for a while and didn't die.

Lol what? Base Gai>>>>Itachi in Taijutsu. Taijutsu doesn't just involve speed. I'm sure the DB gave both a 5 in speed without powerups but I'll just say Itachi is slightly faster than Base Gai. Gai is though better (far better) when it comes to Taijutsu.

No it doesn't. So sasuke, automatically builds up chakra for a jutsu and then suddenly uses a genjutsu that quick?...soo not happening
