I think I agree with this. And either way, to me Gai's fights are the most entertaining to see. Because his style is hand to hand combat. and he is just a beast. Its not massive one shot moves all the time that noone can block or defend. He competes with the best with nothing but hand to hand combat. Although he does have massive techs ie: morning peacok and afternoon tiger

i vote a. no battle starts with both going all out. at base a is faster than gai and before gai knew what was going on he would get liger bombed or clotheslined and its game over

A cant move fast unless he has his raiton armor.
So it can go either way.

And if you think about it, the 8 gates probably can easily match a bijuu.

But that would kill the user.. So /: Gai himself said he would only use the 8th gate unless it's a life or death sittuation. Or if he is protecting someone dear to him.

True that! It's funny because Gai technically doesn't have any "jutsu" either. Just strict taijutsu he is just badass with his fists of fury

Gai can be strong and all but, come on now, raikage beats him pretty badly, if i am wrong, explain to me why, raikage got so much power and he is considered an OP character.

u have to remember every human can use gates so its not like a super power up for him and raikage is super fast and strong probably lightning armor is = to the 8 gates

Not everyone can open gates--Lee, Gai, and Kakashi are the only ones shown able to open any gates--and it really is like a superpower. Raikage's lightning, even V2,is a large amount of lightning based chakra to increase speed and power. When Gai opens lets say 3 gates, his Speed and power can easily match raikage. Also, Gai's taijutsu techniques are considerably superior the Raikage's. What Raikage does is supe up his speed/power, and he relies strictly on his power. So he has super strong punches, kicks, and wrestling moves like his Powerbomb (he calls it Raiga Bomb). But Gai's base speed is super fast, and i'm talking really fast, nearly rivaling Minato's base speed in my opinion. However, when he uses two or three gates, it's better than Goku using the Kaio-ken. It super powers Gai's body--his strength increaases dramatically along with his speed. He'd be too quick for the human eye to see. If Gai used maybe 5 gates, Raikage would be no match for him.
One other reason--besides the fact that Gai's gates would allow him to be faster and stronger than Raikage--is that Gai can actually used super-powered techniques with his gates, unlike Raikage who can't used any techs (i mean besides hand-to-hand combat, which in my opinion in not as good as gai's). Raikage is not his father--his skin is not like iron and his blood is not like steel, he can be hurt. If Gai opened 5 gates, his speed would allow his to powerfully pummell raikage, and the finisher would be the Daytime Tiger (what's it called, Hmudora or somethin?)

so in summation--in case u don't wanna read it all--not all people can open the 8 gates, it's a very powerful, very forbdiden thing to do. Even Kakashi, talking about Lee, said "not just anyone can do that, is he a genius afterall?" Raikage can boost his chakra for a huge power up, and can go 2 levels with it. Gai is an extremely Taijutsu user , opening gates floods ur body with chakra and increases your power beyond that of a kage, as stated in the manga..

So that's my opinion.

Lighting armor is so much faster than gates. even in the 7th gate guy is no match for A speed. He would just strap on the armor and attack guy before he even knows what hit him. Stupid discussion

Are you crazy. Maybe If he opened all eight he could cause a bijuu some pain but he would die after. Dont say eight gates equal bijuu. It is just not true.

Shut up. If this was true instead of just trying to capture extreamely tough beast everybody would just try and learn to open gates as it is much easier and all ninjacan try to do it. 8 gates can not match a bijuu.

I want you to prove that statement right now with facts from the manga. That's right you can't becasue we haven't even seen it yet.

For all we know, He could probably take on a bijuu with that kind of power. The gates are extremely powerful and nothing to be taken lightly. Its a kinjutsu for a reason.

Honestly I don't think that a battle to the death would change the Raikages motive to beat Gai and the same goes for Gai's end. A sacrificed his left arm just to create an opening to kill Sasuke Gai would have his hand full no doubt with A. But then again Gai didn't hold back on Kisame who's ****ing OP. The Raikage would have no room to yell out threats or anything(being the loud mouth that he is).
