The title says it all. Gai has mastered the 7th Gate.
Gai Sensei will go 8 Gates in this battle, and I predict he will die soon afterwards. It will probably be an inspiration for Rock Lee to do the same thing BUT STAY ALIVE. But the last chapter has shown me... Gai has nothing left to show.
GAI HAS MASTERED THE 7TH GATE
So. Gai Sensei has mastered the 7th Gate, so there is no other level to go than to the 8th Gate. Previously he knew how to open 7 gates, but now he has MASTERED that technique. Why do I say this? B/c in the last manga, Gai was able to perform Hirudora WITHOUT FULLY OPENING THE 7TH GATE. It other words, for the 1st time in manga history he was able to perform a "Gate Jutsu" without having to fully open any gates at all. Look at the manga page below, when Gai Sensei performs Hirudora for the 1st time on Manga:
In the manga above, you will see that when Gai opens 7 Gates, he 1) Sweats "Green Sweat" that evaporates off his body to give him a "green aura", and 2) his pupil goes completely white. But in the last manga page (see link below), we see none of the above happening:
He literally was able to perform the jutsu without fully opening a gate, and even after he performs the jutsu, no sweat is evaporating from his pores. Hell, his whole body was bound by Mokuton while he performed this! This means he was able to open the 7th Gate while simutameously performing the Hirudora jutsu, effectively closing the gate after the technique was QUICKLY performed! This allowed him to perform the jutsu after being beat half to death and having very little chakra. He did not need to go through the ritual of opening any gates before performing the jutsu, and showed no side effects of ever opening any gates (Green sweat, white pupils). Which doesn't surprise me b/c the jutsu does not need chakra to be performed.
To be able to perform that jutsu so efficiently in the dead heat of the most difficult foe he has ever faced, he has honestly mastered that technique. There is nothing more for him to do than to Open the 8th Gate of Death (and die)and leave a legacy for Rock Lee... to find a way of opening 8 Gates without dying. What do you think....?
