Taijutsu was shown to be uneffective on Sasori's puppet body when Sakura punched Sasori and he assembled himself again. Unless gai knows the weak point of sasori and his techniques, he has no chance of winning. He will first be poisoned.

Honestly, I think he can defeat Sasori. Chiyo and Sakura could handle him I don't see why Gai wouldn't be able to. Sure Chiyo knew Sasori's puppets weaknesses etc, BUT, c'mon its Gai we're talking about. Pretty sure he'd defeat Sasori in a sec with that speed of is, especially if he were to open the gates. Sasori wouldn't see him coming.

Gais move he used on kisame can easily finish off sasori. But sasori poison is ultimately fatal it would be a close call. But I'll have too go with guy cuz he's 8 gate speed is inhuman he took on 3 version 2 jinchuriki.

He can kill him gas. Toxin won't affect Sasori.

He can break himself into pieces. The only place where he has to protect is the chest, and that's easy.

Gai is the Solo God.

Without weights he would most likely be as fast as iron sand or faster. He may get scratched by poison but I'm sure he'll end the fight before he goes down.. besides.. if he does smash Sasori to pieces he would notice the core drawing the pieces back together and aim for that to kill.
