The last time he had used Gates the end of the chapter said pretty much the same thing "Guy is prepared to Die"
It's no different in this chapter to be honest and even more so that Rock lee is here with Gai.

Only difference here is it says "Guy is ready to die" Same meaning. This is actually the perfect opportunity for Lee to obtain his 7th gate. If he assists Guy sensei in his gated assault on Madz then i dont see why guy has to die. Lee just might stop him from using it or SOMETHING may happen that will prevent guy from using it. Narutos arrival may be that answer.

Don't create a monster and then restrict him so he looks pathetic.
Asuma's death was really useful to the story, it was the start of shippuden. It shown that the Akatsuki were no joke. Because of it, I had thrills when a member of the Akatsuki appeared because they weren't a joke. Same with Jiraiya, pain isn't the leader for nothing and the rinnegan had to be taken seriously by the readers.
Those are the feeling kishi was aiming for, however everyone agrees that the series are going downhill.
Madara is the biggest/strongest vilain, but I don't even feel "worried" for the alliance, Kishi failed with the credibility.

anyways guy can not stop or prevent his death from happening after opening the 8th gate its automatic death after using it.

There have been plenty of deaths in this war. Just not many out of developed known characters.

For the war arc to be good, it does not need a QUANTITY of deaths. Just QUALITY deaths. Deaths that develop the story.

For example shikaku, and inoichi. Those were good deaths. They developed the story a bit.

Gai going 8th gate to buy some time, would be a good death.

Tsunade dieing to sacrifice herself for naruto could be a good death.

Etc etc.

Fans on One piece love to hype up the marineford WAR. But there were less deaths than this war arc(of known characters)

In marine ford really only Ace and WB were killed.
In naruto so far inoichi shikaku, Neji have confirmed to have died. Soon Gai Bee Obito(I dont think he can hang on to black zetsu forever), and more may die.(this is not counting edos or people sealed in the sages tools.)

But not all wars are bloodbaths. A war is just a massive conflict between two large groups or more. Some wars are bloody and some are not(see cold war)

I would wait till the end of Naruto to judge the war though. Because for all we know, everyone may die near the end.(not likely but possible)
