Just because hes not using his full power doesnt mean he cant be injured. He could very easily underestimate guy and get a portion of his body blown up. Its obv madara could nuke the world atm, but thats not the way kishi does things

damaging someone who is going easy on you and isn't even bothering to be on defense, is quite sad. Madara could've killed Gai back than when Gai started attacking, Just to let you know.

Hes not underestimating them. He perfectly knows the gates' powers.. Its just nothing is going to happen to him.

I honestly hope 8th gate gives his some really OP strenght. At least enough to push madara around a little bit.

I think Gai's power level in the eighth gate would be at the same level or a little higher than Madara. But, like how many have said already he won't bring Madara down.

Madara said that Gai insults him for not bringing out the red vapor (Viz translation). Maybe he knows how strong the eighth gate is and knows he can withstand that power.
