did you watch the kisame vs gai fight? i suggest you go rewatch the ending
the gates might require chakra pools but the taijutsu he uses is not chakra based.

Wrong, all Ninjas had chakraso it doesn't matter if he uses taijutsu because many other Ninjas can use taijutsu. The tree goes after anything with Chakra not those who use chakra attacks. Gai can use Ninjutsu since he used summoning jutsu twice in the manga. The fact is anyone can do taijutsu so that means the whole alliance could win by only using taijutsu if it was right but its not. The tree goes to anything with chakra. Just because Gai can use afternoon tiger doesn't mean he could win, we saw when Tobirama water jutsu cut the tree's branch that it just grew and kept going for Naruto.
Lee has chakra too, he's just can't mold it to perform genjutsu or ninjutsu. Taijutsu does use chakra to increase their strength and speed as well. You need chakra to open the gates as Gai explains ithttp://narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/085/9

Yeah but he has chakra inside of him, which can be absorbed by the Shinju. Infact the 8 gates is simply the opening of CHAKRA gates inside the body.

Morning Peacock, Hirudora, Inverse Lotus, and so on... all these techniques requires a certain preparation since each one needs the user to travel at high speed or projecting high pressure with sweat, something that is only (and I repeat myself), ONLY possible with the use of chakra.
The 8-Gates technique open the 8 main nodes on the chakra network system so the chakra can travel free at high speed and make possible to execute these techniques.
Sadly for your first statements, these techniques are not pure Taijutsu, they are Nin-tajutsu.
And about the God Tree... it is already confirmed that it doesn't absorb just ninjutsu, but Yin Yang Energy (Chakra). So even Taijutsu won't work as expected.
