Gai can use any gates technique at any form

In one chapter Gai used Hiroudora at base form and pushed back Madara Susano and broke it(the mokuton grip on Killer Bee was loosened after the attack). Hiroudora is a 7th gate technique this shows that Gai can use moves from the gates at base form on any other gates. So he can use moves like the Night Gai/Moth nnot in 8th gate without dying but the power gets decreased since he is not in 8th gate. But remember he pushed back Susano in base form and was weakened U_U. Just want to show something I found I think it's pretty cool.

The op is incorrect. You need the first gate (or second, i can't remember) to use primary lotus. You need the fifth gate to use hidden lotus. At 7th gate is hirudora. Some people are stronger than others yes... but gai isn't strong enough to use hirudora at base, otherwise he woudln't use that form at all. He instantly went to 7 for that attack

Might've been an error on Kishi's part or perhaps a translation error. If it is a 7th gate tech, it should only be available to the 7th gate.

first all no he used 7th gate to use that attack. gai and lee specifically state that the gates allow you to use certain taijutsu attacks. meaning that if you don't enter those gates you cannot use them.

I guess that possible. But since the techs are meant to be used in the gates, wouldn't it hurt him badly if he's not in the gates?

The only reasonable explanation as to how Gai even has techniques in 8 gate form. Techniques he couldn't possibly train or practice in 8 gates because it kills you on first use .

Is that he either makes these technqiues up on the spot - Unlikely, as lee knew some of their names.

These are techniques he has trained in either base, or the previous levels of Gates. But he simply understands that opening gates and using these Base taijutsu moves will completely put them on another scale

I'm thinking he can use 8th gate moves like Night Moth/Gai in lesser gates. He had to train to know how to use them and opening the 8th gate meant death so I theorize he could use them in base or 1-7 gates.

Clearly you can learn or use taijutsu that would require a certain gate, with a lower gate. Gai had to learn how to do evening elephant and night moth somewhere other than 8th gate.

However. Gai CERTAINLY cannot use gate attacks in base form. If he did, then it was a manga error.
