Gai and Kakashi mirrors Vegeta and Goku

Except the difference is that Gai far surpassed Kakashi whereas Vegeta was always behind Goku.

Funny how different authors reward hard work.

Goku=Natural Genius, Vegeta=Hard Worker.

Kakashi=Natural Genius, Gai=Hard Worker.

vegeta was naturally gifted to start with..

goku constantly pushed his limits and became strong through effort.. this changed later on and his talents bloomed leaving vegeta to be the hard working one and goku to be the gifted one

Goku = considered lowly Saiyan soldier
Vegeta = considered the natural strongest of the Saiyans.

After many things happened, Goku > Vegeta

Gai = considered a lowly jounin due to his lack of Nin / Gen abilities.
Kakashi = considered a genius due to his natural learning abilities.

After many things happened, Gai > Kakashi ....and then again, Hachimon Tonkou = Kaiouken.

Guy = Goku they're both loud and have that happy go lucky attitude.
While Kakashi and Vegeta are more cool and relaxed plus gifted from the beginning.

Goku was born with a power level of 2. He was perhaps the weakest saiyan kid ever born. Goku trained his whole life to get to the his current power level

Vegeta was the son of King Vegeta, the king of ALL saiyans. Vegeta was born a genius. He had his personal soldiers who killed people for him. Vegeta hasn't done even 1/100 of Goku's training

Vegeta only started training after he saw Goku beat freiza.
