Gaara's Ultimate Defense vs. Kunai & Shuriken

So, I've been thinking if Gaara's ultimate defense could be broken ONLY by attacking with Kunais' and Shurikens'.
So basically, would Ten-Ten be able to beat Gaara, if he didn't do anything and just stand on a field, while Ten-Ten throws her ninja tools and kunais' at him until her chakra runs out?

I think the shurikens and kunais wont be verry effective and it would be a wasted attempt.

Yeah, I think that the most effective way to break his Ultimate Defense is with a fast taijutsu.
