Gaara's character, unbelievable?

Does anybody think the way Gaara just switched from sociopath, psychotic murderer to 'friends yay I love friends liek omg' so quickly was bad character development on Kishimoto's part? Not bashing it, just wondering. Pretty much the same thing happened to Nagato as well.

It felt kind of weird, but not in too much of a bad way after all. Gaara did give Naruto a mature approach in dealing with Sasuke.

I think it works. Gaara was clearly using this bloodlust as a foil for his loneliness. You can even see that as a psychopath he was trying to find somebody to relate to, in his own twisted way he tried to establish a bond with Sasuke as he knew Sasuke felt similar pain to him. He just had no other way to express himself because his life had been hellish.

Naruto gave him that empathy and awakened something inside him.

Let's not be too hasty; Gaara is still every bit as mellow and serious as he's always been. In fact, before being extracted of Shukaku, we only have one instance of his interaction with other shinobi, and it was still in contemplation of what it meant to have friends, two years after the attack on Konoha. Obviously, extracting Shukaku was the best thing to ever happen to Gaara as the biju did terrible things to him.

The single bad think about his development is fanboying Naruto but appearntly that's what the whole army does.
"But i have never been a fan of Messiah Jesusu omg!!1" speeches of Naruto anyway.

"I am lonely, you are lonely, i understand, peace, believe it dattebayo" is context of his speeches; they are butchering characteristics; not cultivating.

Gaara is still my 3rd fave. My 2nd fave Neji felt to horrendeoud tnj; Lee is my fave atleast the man effected him was always relevant to him (did not pop out in a fight) and rooftop speech with Gai did not felt like a plain tnj.

Team 7 is a joke as an overall concept it is not much thing to being decent in appeal compared to them.

Team 7 excluding Kakashi, he's a great character IMO.

Whilst i've grown to dislike Kakashi, I do agree.

Team 7 are an easy group to focus on but they're really not the most interesting. Team Guy are the best visually and are the most fun but Kishi never actually does anything cool with them and it's just fan interpretations and the spin-off that lets them flourish, going by just the manga Team Guy really don't come across as strongly written as they should be.

Team 10 have always been my personal favourite, it's ridiculous how all 3 have had miles more interesting and realistic character development than all of Team 7 put together.
