That wasnt a clock that was naruto transforming into kyuubi but earlier stages since it was JUST 1 tails and not more if it was more than 4 tails than he would have looked more like kyuubi watch pein vs naruto

I think it's because it is only the one-tails, Naruto can have chakra cloaks up to 9 tails ( sorta ), but once Gaara goes one-tailed form, it's his Bijuu mode. Just like it Naruto goes nine-tailed form, it's his full Kyuubi transformation.

Gaara's cloak was Shukaku's chakra infused with sand.

RI guess he was trying to be unique but when he decided to bring in all nine demons maybe he lost motivation and put them all the same. Thats the thing though he didnt bring out shukaku in the obito vs naruto fight. Its really weird

The shikaku spirit is his mothers chakra.

My guess is since Gaara uses sand they wanted his tranformations to use that to make him unique.Also his mother's spirit was part of the sand and so was Shukaku

Gaara would try stop the Shikaku from taking over his body so it was only when Gaara had lost control completely that he could get out which meant that Shikaku didn't waste time with the different transformations he went straight for biju mode seeing as the Shikaku had the ablity over sand he would take over Gaara's body limb by limb
