Gaara & Water

There are many people who seem to think that Water is a big weakness to Gaara. So I thought I would highlight a few facts and let you make your own minds up.

1: When Gaara carried Sand above the Village hidden in the sand, He carried a massive quantity. This tells me, he doesn't have an issue with weight of sand.

2: When Sand and Water mix, the resulting substance is more sand-like than anything else. It becomes heavier,denser sand. Gaara has been shown to use rocks and massive quantities of sand. So density and weight make no apparent difference to Gaara.

3: A water user would have no water left to control if it mixed with Gaara's sand. He would be the one left with weighty Sand which he could still control.

4: Sand:

.....Still sand....still under Gaara's control.

Conclusion to be drawn is that Water will weigh the sand down a little more but Gaara has no issues carrying a lot of weight. But the Water user will run out of water as it mixes with Gaara's sand and will serve only to give Gaara a denser weapon.

water used by a water style user that embeds chakra in it to disrupt gaara's chakra controling the sand might hinder it.... i think i saw a tech like this used against him once or twice but not sure.... other than that yea normal water doesnt effect gaara control or quanity of sand he can use as wieght is not an issue... u just have to disrupt the chakra controling it...

Water does make the sand heavy and its movements ineffective. But gaara knows some way to bypass it..
Also if gaara's sand and water dragon jutsu does collide, gaara's sand will fall.

I think it depends on the opponent. If the opponent is at Tobirama's or Kisame's level, I don't thin is going to be easy. They will not run out of water, you know like Tobirama uses water style where there is no water, they can only run out of chakra. :nindaime:

Mix water and sand in the right portions you get quicksand.

Gaara can use any sand around so you would need a pretty big water jutsu make a difference, I think wet sand makes him slower

How come ? This can't be proven . The laws of Matter and Molarity are not the same for Naruto , And real life .

All of gaaras Sand dosent have to be Full of chakra .

It would absolutely depend on the skill and chakra levels present in the water and of the Jutsu. That said, I have not seen any water Jutsu that move or act like Gaara's Sand. I firmly feel that the chakra levels in Gaara's Sand would be much higher than that in a remotely controlled by some chakra/guided water jutsu.

Maybe someone like Tobirama or Kisame would be able to launch an attack capable of clashing with Gaara's sand. But again, his chakra infused Sand is a unique case and all water Jutsu seen, seem to be guided by chakra but not able to hold their form permanently.

Bollocks...It makes the sand heavy but not inneffective. Go get some sand, mix it with water and see what it feels like. It tends to lose it's liquid properties. At best, the water user could hope to have a stronger chakra control over their Water and better control over it. They would need to over-power Gaara's Sand control.

how does a water dragon jutsu beat gara's sand if the proportion of power in the attacks are the same... water doesnt beat earth (which is the closest thing to catagorize sand)... just doesnt make sense imo... water would crash against the wall of sand and the wall of sand would keep going....

Gaara is a Wind Element user which is certainly not weak against Water. And Earth is strong over water...some people eh....

oh yea... he's a wind user... but the solid wall of sand made more solid by water still doesnt break against a water dragon imo...

Yeah but in a battle against a water user , He wouldnt use chakara sand . His only chakra sand is the sand in his Gourd . And gaara's not dumb . He would know to use normal sand against a water user , Opposed to Chakra sand .

Well it's true the water makes the sand wet.. but techniqually the water is still there so it makes no difference....

especially if we take Tobirama who can make water out of nowhere.....

it doesn't. the nidaime's oily water technique cause the sand to crumble , but gaara manipulated it again didn't he? with no problem. Also, when it was hailing from jouki boy, it more than likely melted into water and saturated his sand, but he still manipulated, almost instantly

that is only you have you put water under sand and cause the soil to not support weight :sy:
and sand isn't always used for quicksand
