I start off by clotting together sand into countless small lumps above you which looks like a cloud. It then rains down needles of sand from every direction around you.

Ling becoming aware of a shadow above him, looks upwards to see a cloud of sand in the air, the cloud of sand spewing countless sand senbon. He simply defends by creating a torrent of water which he releases upwards towards your cloud. The water would blow away your cloud and the needles, protecting him from your technique.
