Who would win? The last time they fought was in the chuunin exam, and the scores 1-1.
Now it's in the present and they both have progressed over time.
Who has the power to overwhelm who?

As much as I HATE to say it, Sasuke would probably win. Gaara is one of my fave characters and Sasuke is my LEAST favorite, possibly only 2nd to Danzo. I hate how people try to overrate EMS and MS like it makes you invincible when it doesn't, but I believe that this truly gives Sasuke the upperhand. Gaara would put up a fight I think, but if the fight comes to close range combat, he is screwed.

I hate when people say that it makes you invincible as well, but it does strengthen your abilities! I mean, Madara would have been easily taken down if it weren't for the Rinnegan. It was proven the a EMS user can be defeated. But you're right. If it came down to a close range battle, Gaaras done for.

Exactly, but people still seem to think EMS makes you God. I think if Gaara can combat genjutsu, another thing people try to pretend is undefeatable, and keep Sasuke at a reasonable distance, he stands a good chance. I can see Sasuke getting impatient and doing something stupid that screws him. He has the tendency to make big no-no's when fighting lol
