It's a really bad match up for Gaara, Minato's speed is too much for him and his sand.

Minato wins mid difficulty. He is too fast to be caught by sand attacks and he can throw a kunai in midair to FTG away from sand tsunami. Once he closes the distance, which he will since Minato is one of the fastest characters in the manga, he can just tele away Gaara's automatic sand defence by simply touching it creating an opening to tag the real Gaara. Then Minato can finish him off with rasengan.

With enough speed p1 Sasuke manaed to land more than one hit on p1 Gaara and so is Lee what exactly makes u think that with that much speed Minato can't get near current Gaara ?
