Easily? When Gaara is flying and manuevering? And with Gaara attacking Kakashi with sand at all angles?
How can Gaara do this if he isn't in the desert??
I go with Kakashi. He has much more jutsus that could affect Gaara. His raikiri(much more powerful than chidori) could pearce through it. Kakashi is too fast to get caught by Gaaras sand that easily His suiton jutsu will make Gaaras sand become much more slower. And i believe he is slightly smarter than Gaara. He can use MS(Kamui) perfectly well now without collapsing, so it will be hard for Gaara who is always static when he fights. I don't see him dodging that. So Kakashi wins this.
Not really. Of course it takes a lot of chakra, but Kakashi can now use it at the begin. He wanted to do it against Tobi directly when he saw him. He did it quickly to warp Susanoo arrows. And even tired after all his previous fights, he thought he were again capable to warp away 5TBB with Kamui directly.

Remember Gaara can create hsi own sand with the soil from the ground. I'm not saying Kakashi will get caught by Gaara's sand easily, I'm saying there's no way Kakashi will be able to focus using MS while being attacked by sand. And slighty smarter than Gaara? He's defiently smarter than Gaara in battle. Kakashi just doesn't have anything fast enough to hit Gaara and he wouldn't be able to get close enough to hit Gaara with Raikiri

Don't forget that Sharingan predicts movements. It's even because of that, he managed to complet his Raikiri. Before he could not avoid attacks because he was too fast, but aiming to Gaara with raikiri and predicting movements with the sharingan will help him to dodge Gaaras sand and get through Gaaras defense with Raikiri. It's by this way that Sasuke managed to hit Gaara in part1. Even Mizukages puppet managed that:

And i believe its not faster than Kakashi who even has sharingan.
Yeah. The soil thingy is true but he didn't need to focus it directly on gaara he can focus it in his sands. Kakashi's speed is enough to hit gaara plus if he added raikiri to it gaara can be hurt.

You guys are right but I'm suggestin that Gaara is in the air, skyhigh. The only way Kakashi can get that high is if he has clones throw him or something like Naruto does

Kakashi has more working for him then Gaara's ultimate defense.In terms of a more well rounded shinobi in skills Kakashi has this.Gaara has his ultimate sand defense and his sand based jutsu.
I'm not saying that's nothing, in fact it's a hell of a lot.Few people can get in close to him, few can actually penitrate his armour, and his attacks are brutal and powerful...
but that's the only thing he has. I haven't seen him throw a punch, or defend against a genjutsu or anything.Kakashi is the strongest shringan user, for somebody outside the actual Uchiha clan. Nobody (IMO) who had the chance to weild a Sharingan would ever compare to him.With that unique eye he has copied and mastered over a 1000 jutsu.Now with the few we've seen, we've seen powerful offense (of all ranges short-long), defense.Not all 1000 of his techniques are elemental based so we could expect more.We've seen his high level of taijutsu, and know that he atleast has some ability in genjutsu (Only seen once,we haven't seen him cast as a method of fighting in a battle or ever been in a situation where he had to repell except with Itachi's Tsukuyomi, which couldn't have been broken by his own means for reasons of him not actually possessing the Uchiha blood).
On the issue of Kakashi vs. Gaara. Kakashi has more field expereince in battle
(fought in a war when he was a child and was in the Anbu for a period), and he's
been shown to be one of the more brillient strategists in the series.
He's fast (although we don't know if he's fast enough to get to Gaara) and he's resourceful.

I've never seen Gaara been able to attack with other sand than his when he is on the sky. And if he doesn't do that, it's because the sand he can control from the earth is much more slower than his own(Deidara said that when they fought). Also Gaara didn't fought Mizukage by going in the sky even when he had desert as advantage. Against Madara also. So why will he necessary go in the sky?

I'd say Gaara has too much for Kakashi. Kakashi won't be able to last the distance with his relatively poor chakra reserves.
