well we know hes stronger than kisame in 7th so he might be itachis equal then , and a dragon also represents gai along with turtle(summons) tiger(7th gate) and a peacock(6th gate) and he may have chakra wings etc. use ur imagination its not difficult

Gaara is the strongest kage (imo) but Gai is a bad matchup.

There is almost no one who can beat "Gaara of the Desert" in the desert

And Gaaras defensive capabilities in the desert would be off the charts

Speed is irrelevant since Gaara can create a clon to catch his enemy just as he did against the mizukage's clon.The difference here is that Gai is more stupid than the Mizukage.

Ok for everyone claiming that being in a desert makes a whole world of difference in every Gaara matchup im sick of hearing it in every thread. Gaara describes it as "easy" for him to create more sand using the sand in his gourd, he can simply create as much sand as he is able to control at once (which as we know is an mound at least as large as or larger than Sunagakure. THE ONLY difference being in a desert makes to Gaara is the time that it takes to turn the eath beneath him, which from seeing him do so, doesnt seem to take long at all in fact he usually keeps opponents occupied with his base sand while creating more (EX: see kimimaro fight)

I give it to Gaara, hes one of the stronger current kages which puts his level >= Gai, I like Gai but i see this going the same way as GaaraLee but on a MASSIVE scale that i would honestly LOVE to see. Gaara is also smater and more clear headed than his last faceoff with a taijutsu master. he has experience with the gates while Gai has never directly fought sand.
