Yes he did make an attempt at the village but remember that Deidara tryed to destroy the village with one MASSIVE explosion. Gaara somehow mannaged to save the village which gave Deidara the upperhand since Gaara almost wasted all his chakra creating one huge sand barrier.

Anyway in that fight Deidara had info on Gaara and Gaara had no info on him.

In this fight (Gaara vs Sasuke) both have full intel and Gaara has the biggest advantage he coud get.

Before you all say EMS Sasuke wins I'd like to point out that Gaara can control all the sand he wants, he can control the ground, he can fly, he can sink Sasuke in the sand, he can shoot sand bullets, he can control the desert itself, he can use sand armour and his perfect defence.

Like I said, that was over a 100 chaps ago. How can his Hawk outrun Gaara's sand when he's on top of a Desert, he can just make the sand fly and surround Sasuke? If you think that won't work then Gaara can just shoot Sand bullets.

Whats so pointless about this thread? Yes I did give Gaara the biggest advantage but look at the poll and most of the posts in the 1st page, almost everyone still thinks that Sasuke wins. So your argument is invalid.

Just because Gaara has an entire desert to control doesn't mean he can actually control every grain of sand at one given time. Sasuke summons a hawk and goes to the sky lighting it up preperaing kirin. Then he shoots kirin down and obliterates Gaara. I made it sound easy but I do believe Gaara in the desert will give Sasuke a run for the money because of the sheer amount of sand that Gaara has available to him. Enton will burn the desert so Gaara will have less available to him especially since it spreads and Sasuke can further make it spread as well. Susanoo arrows are deadly as well. Sure Gaara can prepare a strong defence to guard against it but it will take time and Gaara's auto defence will get damaged for sure.

Still Gaara can try massive sand tsunamis to try and bring Sasuke down but he can use chidori to cut through or amaterasu to burn through. Sand bullets can be dodged easily or countered by chidori senbons. Gaara's main advantage is his vastly superior stamina but Sasuke has the right move-set to end the fight quickly before running totally dry. If you haven't noticed, EMS drains a lot less chakra than MS.

gaara in a desert is too strong. first he'd fly up in the air. then he'd capture sasuke from below by waving his hand and tracking where he is with sensor sand. since sasuke is basically running on what gaara is completely in control of, he can just move the sand and make sasuke lose his footing. or block his sharingan vision by spinning his sand at speeds to create a storm. whiel thats happening he can form quicksand and bury sasuke. sasuke would have won had this not been in a desert at such a huge distance.

but Sasuke would amaterasu the whole desert....besides he can protect himself with a shield of black flames.

absurd. deidara took advantage of circumstance and mixed clay with sand as well as forcing gaara to waste chakra stopping the nuke headed for suna. sasuke was deidaras bad matchup as his raiton could counter deidara's clay explosives whereas sand cant. it doesnt mean sasukes stronger than gaara

gaara might not be able to control an entire dessert,but he can easily control more that's needed to beat sasuke as his sand powers are said to be at least the level of a bijuu.

Will gaara stop attacking sasuke once he gets on the hawk?,gaara can down that hawk easily with his sand hail,and they are un a dessert,there is no moisture to form thunder clouds anyway.

How will enton burn a dessert?,do you know how much sand is there?,and gaara would easily use the enton covered sand to attack sasuke,why would gaara need time to form a defence?:| they are in a dessert!

We have already seen that amaterasu cant burn gaara's sand,and how would sasuke cut a sand tsunami with a chidori?,gaara stopped v2 raikage easily,chidori pierced v1 by a fraction,not to mention gaara can still manipulate the wave of sand to attack sasuke from all directions as well as the sand under sasuke's feet,you know gaara can attack from multiple places at once right?

Gaara's bastly superior stamina will allow him to easily spam his sand moves more than sasuke can do his ems, despite the chakra reduction that it gives gaara is leagues ahead of sasuke in chakra and stamina. Gaara dosent need help to pull out sasuke or attack him inside susanoo because sasule is already standing on sand that gaara can use to easily attack him,even if sasuke dodges sand bullets,he is still running on a dessert of sand which gaara can still use to attack at any time.

If sasuke decides to use his hawk,gaara simply flies up there in his sand sphere and brings a legion of sand with him,a few sand hails and that bird is downed.
