Gaara should use his sand in a smaller scale

Rather than doing tsunamis and sand funerals, he should just use tiny dust size pieces of his hardest sand that people cant see to go inside his opponents nostrils and move around extremely rapidly, puncturing their wind pipe and lungs. There would be limitless things he can do. Also he can just get the sand into their digestive tract and destroy all the intestines. He has shown the ability to use sand on a smaller scale when he used the sand to make a little circle around the handshake between himself and Naruto and this is when he just recovered from dying.

it would probably be too gruesome for the target audience of this series, but hey realistically this is how Gaara should use his sand! Obviously Kishi wont let him do this because parents wouldn't buy the manga or the anime dvds for their kids anymore but still, for practical purposes Gaara would absolutely own doing this.

He uses the same elemental nature as Deidara, and we've seen Deidara try to kill people from within (his C-4).

Gaara could just re-purpose his sensing sand. Fill the battlefield with sensing sand that is laced with his chakra. His opponents would unknowingly inhale sand or get it in their wounds, and instead of condensing it like with his Sand Coffin/Sand Burial/Sand Funeral, he could expand it rapidly and rip people apart from the inside.

yup exactly. as soon as a few pieces are able to penetrate the skin either through the nose, mouth, or a wound, there's really limitless amount of potential for the damage gaara can cause to the opponent.
