that would be because sand isnt a solitary object which never changes shape , the molecules are loose , and then cant be set fire to.
i dont remember TBB not blowing up an area the size of the hidden sand....

Gaara would demolish Tsunade, and stands a solid chance against Bee, Sasuke, Itachi, and EMS Madara. The only ones in that list that would destroy him with ease are Kabuto, current Naruto, and Tobi. Let's not get carried away.
