Gaara of the Sand is probably one of the best developed characters In the series, if not the best . His childhood was overwhelmed by extreme animosity and hatred unknown even to the likes of other jinchuriki such as Naruto, perpetrated by his very own family.
Gaara's tragic plight began with prematurity, closely followed by the death of his mother and sealed in style with the fate of become a jinchuriki; all moments after his very first breath of life.

Gaara become the ultimate weapon for Sunagakure, something to be used and abused. Gaara tried to reach out to people but his efforts were always in vain. His uncle Yashamaru being the only person to accept Gaara. The rest blamed him for the rampage caused by the beast within him. His own siblings feared him. His own father tried to have him assassinated many times but Gaara kept going.

Yashamaru then abandoned Gaara telling him that no one cared about Gaara. His own sister died in an effort to kill him as a baby.
