Cant believe people really think mei can win because of her water techs gaara can make a desert in a couple of minutes mei can only make like a puddle of water

I'm not trying to insult anybody here. All I'm saying it, GAARA FTW.When sand melts, then cools, it becomes glass. Sand is just small particles of minerals, all of which can be melted
Do you really think Gaara is gonna let his sand even touch the lava? I mean, come on, seriously?:flaw: and when lava touches sand, I'm sure it won't make glass. I know when sand is heated it makes glass. Lava is another thing.
Mei seems inexperienced too from the way I see it. She's maybe older than Gaara by what? At most 10 years. Still, that doesn't mean she's better than Gaara. I'm sure she's never fought someone like him.
I read it from somewhere that she could summon 2 animals and I think one of them was a coyote and the other was a marine animal. It hasn't been shown in the manga yet.

My two favorite characters....I could honestly say this could go either way...They both have different advantages on each other obviously. It would be hard for Mei to overcome something as big as a sand wave, but with her mastery of different elements, she could possibly pull it off.
I'll start with Gaara: Sand is fast, and can make more, great defense, great chakra...
In my personal opinion, Gaara is easily in the top 10.
Mei: 3 elements, 2 kkg...Fast, pretty nice chakra, talented.
If Mei is as talented in her other elements as she is with water, ect, she could also easily get up on the chart.
Now as for the actual fighting.
As stated before, a huge sand wall is something that would pose a big threat to anyone, but there are a few ways I could think of countering it.
I'm not sure how great she is at her elements, but you do need to master them to combine them. A few good earth elements that could stop it would be :
Earth-Style Rampart....I can see her making something like this to stop it..
Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall..It says that this jutsu can vary with how much chakra is being used to make it...
Water Release: Water Encampment Pillar ....
....
If all of that fails, She could make his sand heavier...I seen some guy on the first few pages arguing that his sand does not get heavy when wet...It obviously does get wet. Now, there are ways that he could stop it, but it hasn't shown my little theory's happening yet. It was shown in part one that his sand gets heavier, im not looking for the page, but it's the chapter when he leads that team to do a joint team mission with team kakashi... He gets attacked by puppets who use water style, and he gets raped.
I'm not saying that just because it's heavy he will lose, he can still control it, it will just be harder, and use more chakra....
She has been shown to be able to create a very large amount of water in seconds, so she could probably cover most of his sand if needed.

I would assume that the lava would melt his sand, but that is not really a big deal, since he can create more when ever he needs it. So I don't see how that can pose much of a threat, other than maybe immobilizing a lot of his sand.

Her acid mist would be the biggest problem to gaara to defend against. There is no way he can stop it. His sand only has a effect on solid things. Which the mist is not.
Since sand is porous, the mist could get through his sand with little to no effort.
Again, some idiot said it does not cover a large area, and it can only be used in rooms. That's just ****ing stupid. Do your research. It is only needed in a closed-in space when she does not want to hurt her allies. The hidden mist tech covers a vast area, so it's only logical to thing that her acid mist could do the same..

Hidding in the mist tech would just be a stupid move on Mei's part. Gaara's sand sensing could easily find her.

Either way, I think that this fight could go either way....It would be easier if we knew more about Mei, but I think we can assume what all she can do.
It may seem like I argued for Mei more, but that's only because I think her reasons need to be pointed out more.
There are ways Gaara can get around Mei's things...But there are things Mei can do to get around Gaara.
So, I say a draw....Give or take a few pints of blood.

Finally! Someone who's actually thinking (?)! So, I guess if Mei is just as good with Doton and Katon like her Suiton then maybe she could make it kind of difficult for Gaara. But again, her biggest weakness is not having a strong defensive foundation. What'll she do when the sand is coming from all directions to make the sand pyramid on her?? Plus I'm sure that Gaara has more chakra than Mei so Mei might lose chakra from using her elemental techs just to keep up with Gaara. Now for the parts in your post that I placed in bold, well, you know...Gaara can fly. Her mist is useless if she wanted to hurt Gaara with it. But anyway, I like your points.

In naruto earth over fire while gaara sand not fully classified as earth it is earth based so gaara sand > fire attacks
Mizukage can't do nothing to gaara really
Gaara can literally fly (not levitate anymore it's shown in some shippuden movie where he doesn't want naruto to stop Kakashi)
So he can avoid lava release
Her water attacks won't work because in his bio it states he can still munipulate Sand even when sagurated (soaked ) wit water
Her boil release won't do nothing cuz once again he can fly
And acid mist to me only works in closed areas cuz if it worked in open space wouldn't it just evaporate ??
And she shows no high speed feats u need to b at least sasuke or raikage speed to try to get around gaara guard Sand not to mention the amount he can create smh
Mei has no way of touching gaara fail thread
And Mei doesn't hav any of those moves on bio u can't just giv her moves
The lava or boil release will follow gaara in air gaara attacks from all sides all Mei moves r short to mid range gaara's long range so she has to get to him witch I Dnt c happening since she hasn't shown any speed feats (at least A bee or sasuke speed)

Also the thing ur tlkin bout where he gets raped (u say) he had fight with the guy tht stole damn near all the chakra from the guard sand and then fought boss who had same abilities he was out of chakra but he was still able to use wet sand and create sikaku spear and kill boss

lava melts anything except water but i think gaara would win win high difficulty

Is everyone forgetting Gaara can turn rock into sand? He has a whole field of rock beneath him he can use against Mei, he'll easily surround her with sand, or even have a tsunami of sand go against her. Her elemental techniques wouldn't work against such a massive attack. In addition, Gaara has large reserves of Chakra that Mei would need to work on keeping up with considering he is a former jinchuriki. Gaara can use his sand defense against the lava attacks, which would turn his chakra infused sand into rock, making it even more deadly.
